Its early days but thanks to his two previous day visits Sammy has soon found his place in the pack. No problems meeting the others and his dinner was quickly eaten up followed by a satisfied after dinner belch! He's relaxing now stretched out on his big bed, funny but I think he's just beginning to realize he's staying here now for good xx

Daybreaks Diary!

It was nice to be a bit cooler today, and the rain that threatened throughout the day failed to materialise, so the boys and girls enjoyed both morning and afternoon walks. Jo took Del Boy off to be neutered first thing this morning, he was a bit wobbly on his return this afternoon and didn’t fancy his supper bless him. Sure he will feel better in the morning, especially as he is off to his new home tomorrow - the perfect place to recuperate after his op. Dougie and Socki are a great double act, and will trap you in the run with them by standing one each side of you and then crossing their necks across you forming an immovable Greyhound barrier!!!! New boy Tommy is a very handsome big lad and is settling well. Zavi is still finding kennel life stressful, he is not a happy boy until someone is with him bless him. All doggies had a groom and their teeth cleaned during the day, and we tidied away some more bags of kindly donated bedding and towels. Well, the weekend is here again and it looks a busy one - so join me in raising a glass to wish for forever homes for our lovely boys and girls. Have a great weekend one and all, and whatever you’re up to stay safe and enjoy. Cheers! Angie xx

Daybreaks Diary!

Another very warm one today. The inmates managed morning walks and this afternoon the paddling pools came out again. Dougie again had fun splashing water all over Socki. Thanks to everyone for their help today, we also have some work experience students from school helping out. They all said they are really enjoying their time with us. We had a new arrival today, the lovely Tommy, he seemed a little shy to start with but got better as the day went on, he too enjoyed cooling off time in the paddling pools. My little Peanut spent much of the day under the desk, only venturing out if anyone went anywhere near the office, one thing she will not miss out on is a cuddle and a fuss!

Ruth and I took Suzie to the vet for her vaccination booster this morning. The vet also looked at the leg she had broken. It's healed well and although she walks slightly sideways a little like a crab, it's looking really good. Xxx She is such a lovely girl. Xxx

It was a very warm today. It was too hot to take the residents out this afternoon, so we got the paddling pools out and they all had chance to have a play in the water. 🙂 Some were more keen than others! Of course Dougie had a great time and splashed around like a puppy. :)) He loved fishing the toys out of the water...Xxx Norman took Natalie for a trip to the park this morning, she had a lovley time. Xxx Thanks so much to everyone for your help today!! Xxx

Dougie and his kennel mate Socki are a brilliant double act. They stood resolutely in front of the kennel door and I wasn't allowed to leave until sufficient cuddles had been received!! Both gorgeous xxxx

Robin went back to the vets today for a check up. She has got to go back again tomorrow morning to have the wound re-stitched.She was so good - a cat and other dogs came in and out of the vets and she just stood by me having lots of love and cuddles she is just one big superstar! Love her to bits
