Kylie
Over the Rainbow Bridge
I think the right people just came forward to foster these beautiful dogs in the first place... we obviously responded with our hearts, tried to engage our heads but then the dogs looked at us and all else went out the window. Personally I would have hated to think of Kylie going through all that stress again when she's happy where she is. We've seen a case near to us recently that would have appeared to be fine to the rescue the dog went from but we saw a serious case of taking on too much and eventually the dog was returned to the rescue (thankfully!). IF that had happened to Kylie, we may have had another foster by the time we'd have known she needed us again - much better just to take away the risk. Kylie's photo is now in a frame on our fireplace along with one of Lucy and just across from others of Ben and Lucy on holidays with us earlier this year. She is part of the family and we're very happy that's the case. It is lovely having three again! Looks like we'll be looking at new places to take 3 dogs on holibobs next time and getting a rooftop box for the car to get all their food, toys, bowls, coats, blankets and whatever else in!! It really IS a dog's life isn't it?!!

Good news indeed !!! Lets hope that those nasty adenomas settle down a bit now. You must be so relieved that he wont be having a GA. He is far too precious to risk losing him now. You have both done a fantastic job caring for him...and protecting him !!! We know how difficult it is looking after a very poorly dog...it's 24/7...and you are constantly watching and worrying. We have so much respect and admiration for you both for taking him on, and doing such a superb job. We know that you will keep him safe, and hopefully, his twilight years will be filled with love and happiness. He really deserves it. Much love to you all.XXXX. Paul & Terry.

Ash

OK, Ash has returned! He has put on .6 kilos which has now brought his weight up to 28 kilos! He is still too weak & underweight to undergo surgery (as well as being 11!) so he has had a chemical castration to help his adenomas (he has 5!) unfortunately hydro has to be cancelled due to them though. The vet says he now doesn't need the biopsy in his neck as his glands have gone down & that it's also best to leave his teeth as the infection in his mouth as now gone. So all in all good news & he's just got to keep putting the weight on!

Louis
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Now the Louis boy is official, he continues to be extremely well behaved (not so much at food times though because he has found out that he loves his grub and does not believe he has to wait his turn!) We are hoping he will calm the others down and teach them how to behave whilst also praying that he does not follow in their 'paw' prints! If Flynn gets a bit grumpy with him he just looks at him as though he has a screw loose (which of course he has). Louis has many traits of Bobby (Pumpkin) who also looked at Flynn the same way. He has fitted in perfectly with the others though and seems to think he lives here now - must have been when I showed him his adoption papers and put on his new house collar on Saturday. To anyone who is thinking of adopting a grey, please do not discount the older dogs - they need homes too and you will have so much love from them you will find it so very worth it. I am sure that anyone who has adopted an older grey will agree with me.
