Finn (Trebles)
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Dear Nicola, I am heart broken for you all to hear such sad news. I know how much you loved Finn. Xxx He was a special boy who needed lots of help when you took him home. With your love and patience he became a very happy boy. Xxx I know how it feels to lose them so suddenly after losing my lovely Fletcher in much the same way last year. Thinking of you all and sending lots of love. God Bless your beautiful Finn. Kate Xxx

All the boys and girls get my Gold Star clean kennel award today! On opening up this morning we were greeted by 2 blocks of happy hounds and clean kennels. Unusually we have lots of lovely girls waiting for their forever homes, leaving Rocky and Snowey feeling a bit outnumbered!! Have a great weekend everyone and hope to see some of you tomorrow at the Hounds Easter Parade. Xx

Finn (Trebles)
Over the Rainbow Bridge
It is with disbelief that we have to share that we have lost Finn. For the first time ever he didn't want breakfast on Thursday morning and then declined during the day. When I took him to the vets, it never even crossed my mind that I would be returning home without him. A tumour. Devastated. Finn had a longer journey from kennel dog to settled pet than other greyhounds we've had and we were so proud of the dog he became. As the front cover of this year's calendar shows, he was handsome, happy and healthy (or so we thought). Two years with him in our family was not enough. Life is so cruel - he deserved a longer retirement. Our only solace is that he loved his life with us and we loved him. My shadow has gone but he is forever in my heart.

Poorly boy Alex. Admitted yesterday for ultrasound and endoscopy as he’s been so ill. It was found that he had a pocket of gas in his abdomen and a large amount of fluid was drained. Suggesting a blockage, he underwent surgery but nothing could be found. On discharge, he managed one wag of his tail and is now back home with me, tucked up and has a bagful of meds. Please pray he gets better. A MASSIVE THANK YOU to #fivelandsvets for doing the endoscopy free of charge x

Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
It felt like I'd woken up in another country this morning with today's beautiful Spring weather - what a contrast to the last couple of days! The boys & girls spent the day without coats and enjoyed two walks in some gorgeous sunshine, it makes such a difference. All our new arrivals are absolutely lovely, and starting to settle in now. Snowey is still a bit unsure about eating breakfast, but does tuck into his supper - maybe he's just not a morning person!! This afternoon saw our lovely River off to his new home, wishing him and his family many happy times ahead. We shall all miss his handsome face and "paw of more". Preparations for the Hounds Easter Parade on Sunday are well under way, and fortunately the weather forecast is looking much better than it was. As well as the Parade, there's also a Doggy Dip & Sossidge Bobbing, Lorna offering mini pampers, and an Easter Egg hunt for the human children. Lots happening - so hope to see you there for a fun day. Parking is at the Birmingham Exiles Rugby Club as usual. I shall raise a glass or two later to toast all our boys & girls, and all those out in foster homes too, and hope for forever homes to come their way soon. Stay safe one & all - cheers!! Angie xx
