Over the Rainbow Bridge
I’ve had an update from Willows regarding Alex. He is doing really well. They are going to take him off his anti sickness meds and decrease the fluid drip today as he’s eaten well and had no sickness. Blood results point to irritable bowel disease however the biopsy results are still not back yet to totally rule out PLE - Willows are hoping to discharge him tomorrow on prescription food and B12 meds x I’m so happy! If you would like to support the fundraising towards his care, I have set up a fundraising page. Thank you so much www.justgiving.com/alexfundraiser

Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
The weather couldn't make up its mind today, torrential rain, sunshine, drizzle, more torrential rain then sunshine! Thanks to the Wednesday walkers for taking the dogs out this morning. This afternoon after Denise left there was Chris and myself, so it was to be sand run fun. Liberty had her turn and Chris called me to say Liberty's paw was bleeding. She had a tiny puncture wound on one pad. Not too bad, surely! Every time her paw was lifted the blood spurted out, literally. We managed to finally get a tight dressing on to try and stem the bleeding, it still came through. Fivelands at Yardley had no one to see her, so off we went to Moseley, they were great, as soon as I pulled up the vet and nurse were straight out to see us. They took the dressing off and thankfully as it was tightly padded the bleeding had stopped. Even they were amazed by amount of blood and the fact she didn't seem to be in any discomfort. Liberty was such a good girl, they took her to clean and check the pad. A new dressing later and she was good to go back to the Kennels. She quite happily ate her dinner and went to bed! Many thanks to Chris for feeding the dogs and cleaning down the feeding runs. As I got back to the Kennels she was just erasing any evidence of the incident. Well after that I have a bottle of wine which seriously needs my attention!!!!

Whoever homes Robin has got a very happy girl once she gets to know you. I've been looking after her for a week now and I've seen the change in her. She is still nervous but is slowly coming out of her shell. She walks lovely on her lead.

I’m Homed
Hot news! I've been out for an hour and doggy spy cam has shown me Joe relaxed, chilling and snoozing in our back bedroom behind his stair gate. I watched him get up and look out of the window but he quickly went back and settled in his bed. So this time he had radio 4, a pig's nose as we left and some Adaptil sprayed on both dog beds and the people bed in that room. Hmm, looking to repeat this success when we go to the cinema later this week.

Joe has had a fabulous weekend away with us. We went up to Marsden to go to the theatre (yes, I know it’s a long way but it was worth it) and we stayed in a local pub. He was a star in the van while we watched the show and met people and dogs in the pub afterwards. And he slept all night in his own bed. I took him out first thing and he did what he had to. Then it was back to the pub for breakfast and being a very dog friendly place he came to breakfast with us. He was interested as the food came to the table but laid down while we ate. He saw the pub cat, too and wasn’t an eejit but just mildly interested. As usual he travelled home well in his crate in the van.

Really glad to see that Georgie has a red flag today. She looks a little like our George and could have been a good companion for him. Unfortunately we are tight for space as we are, not to mention that George and Georgie would have been confusing for all! Good luck, gal.
