A very busy day. Sadly our lovely Denise is not very well and so was not in today. Hoping she feels better soon. Thanks to everyone for their help today. Lorna also had a couple of Pampers booked. We had the Sharron Alexandra photo shoot today, it was very busy. Can't wait to see my little Peanuts photos. Peanut made sure she was kept busy by being cute and making friends with all the visitors! There are two more sessions in the diary, one in June and another in September, raffle tickets will be available on both occasions, the prize being your dogs photo will be in next year's Daybreaks calendar, so if you book a slot on either of the following sessions you can enter the raffle. It has to be worth having a go or two. All dogs had morning and afternoon walks. Gorgeous Chloe was reserved and is going out on trial next Sunday. River was a happy waggy boy despite finding himself back in Kennels. I have a feeling his stay may be a very short one (fingers crossed)!! Many thanks to Liz for taking Sammy for an outing today, he had a glowing report on his return. Well, as always stay safe and well. X

Sammy came with me to Bruten Park today. He is a really happy boy, who trots beautifully. He travelled well in the car, although he needed a hand getting in. He behaved impeccably in the park and demonstrated only positive interest on other dogs. Once we had walked through the park, he came in a few shops with me and waited patiently whilst made my selections. After that we walked to the train station to meet my husband off the train. He took all of these experiences in his stride and was a pleasure to take out. Here's hoping that he doesn't have to wait long for his new home xx

It gave us immense pleasure to change Joey's Reserved sign to HOMED today! He has a new name Monty. :)) He looked fantastic and was such a happy, relaxed lad. Thank you so much to Elaine and Dean for all they are doing for this special boy. They adore him. 🙂 Xxx

I saw Alex go out to his foster home yesterday and I have had reports that he has settled well and hasn't stopped wagging his tail. He is doing really well on the Natures Menu raw diet and starting to put on weight. So very pleased for Liberty, her new family travelled all the way from Wales, it took them three hours because of traffic! They homed the gorgeous George, now Seanchai from us a little while ago. He and Liberty got on so well. Wishing the whole family all the very best. Xx

Daybreaks Diary!

After a very grey, dull start it turned into a glorious day, and yes - I got lines of washing dry!! We were very thin on the ground for volunteers, just Chris and I for walking this morning, so it was sand run playtime this afternoon. Little Lucy is still so very nervous bless her, she went out on the walk but wasn't very happy, even when walking next to her companion Misty. She heads straight for her kennel whenever she has been taken out and snuggles up into the corner. Hopefully as time goes by she will realise she is safe and all is well, and she will start to gain some confidence. It was quite a busy day. So lovely to see our special boy Alex going off to his foster home first thing this morning, then the lovely Liberty bagged herself a forever home with a very handsome fur brother this afternoon, and lots of donations of towels & bedding to sort and put away. Well, the weekend is here again - I'm sure someone is taking a day out of the week while I'm not looking!!!! It is a white wine kind of evening so I shall raise a glass or 2 later to toast our newcomers and hope Lucy starts to settle soon, Sammy who is currently outnumbered by a bevvy of lovely ladies, and all the doggies in foster care hoping for forever homes soon.
