Daybreaks Diary!

It's been a while since we've had every kennel full - so today was a busy old day, but so lovely to have lots of beautiful doggies to look after. Jo was on the Vet run this morning as it was Rocky's turn to be neutered. Hopefully he will be off to his new home very soon now. I met our 3 latest arrivals - and have fallen under the spell of the adorable River! All 3 have settled well and are good out on their walks, and of course the pretty Sahara has found herself reserved already. All doggies enjoyed morning & afternoon walks in some lovely springlike weather - post op Minnie was not impressed at being left behind bless her!! We caught up with weighing & health checks, and then all our residents had a lovely groom and teeth clean in readiness for the weekend's viewings - fingers crossed. As I am typing this, the students are feeding the boys & girls, then we will tuck them up for the night with heaters on, as despite the lovely day, it soon starts to get chilly when the sun goes in. On that note, we are running very low on tinned meat for our boys & girls, especially as there are now so many of them, so if you can spare a tin or two we would be eternally grateful. xx It's another busy weekend ahead again, and lets hope that we see a red or green sign or two by Monday morning. I shall raise my usual glass later and keep everything crossed. Have a great weekend one and all- and as usual, stay safe and enjoy. Cheers! Angie xx

Over the Rainbow Bridge
Wagga Max (Max) known to all as Gummers: 04/05/10 - 03/03/22 I am heartbroken to say that yesterday morning my beautiful Gummers made his way across the rainbow bridge. He was an amazing boy who loved everyone and lived up to his racing name, he always had a waggy tail, even at the end. We miss him terribly, his legs gave up so suddenly and combined with his nasal tumor it was the kindest last act of love I could give to him. Waiting for him would have been Sarah Scare Bear, Willow Pillow, Stevie and the rest of the gang. You are now young again, you can run fast and free and be free of pain. God has gained another incredible angel. Gummers, you may be no longer by my side but you will be forever in my heart. Until we meet again precious boy. XXXXX

Daybreaks Diary!

Great to visit the kennels on Tuesday to carry out some video recording. It will help me improve and make videos better for Daybreaks. It's in the early days for videos on YouTube so they are on my personal channel. Daybreaks Diary!

A full kennels this morning, which kept Yvonne and CJ busy cleaning and Declan feeding. I was supposed to be in charge of cats and chickens but kept getting sidetracked by other things :)) Got there in the end! :))) Xxx Beautiful Sahara has been reserved and so has our very handsome Buick. Xxx We had some new volunteers join us today. We are always grateful for the extra help. Xxx Richard and I had the pleasure of giving pampers to Tiggie and his sister Lola this morning. Tiggie has been in his new home for a few weeks and is doing really well. It's clear to see he is very happy and adores his Greyhound sister Lola. They looked and smelt lovely after their baths. :)) Thanks so much to all our walkers and to everyone for all their help today. :))) Very much appreciated. Xx Xxx

Well…. Fred isn’t impressed with me! No breakfast this morning and after a trip in the car, the next thing he remembers is waking up with bits missing!!!!! Sorry Fred but neutering is the best thing to not only stop unwanted pups in the world when there are enough beautiful greyhounds already for us to rehome along with massively reducing his risk of testicular cancer in later life. I’m sure with bribery with some chicken I’ve bought him I will be forgiven!

Oh River, what a distinguished-looking hound you are. I like to think that grey airs show wisdom (especially since I got them lol) I just love the older black guys and Fat neck Finn says couldn't we swap him for Steve. I had to explain it doesn't work that way lol Hope River gets his own settee soon x
