Over the Rainbow Bridge

This is from his owner: ''Good afternoon everyone, it is with a VERY heavy heart I have to announce that Paddy has now left us to chase rabbits on the other side of the rainbow. He was the most fantastic hound, we collected him in the March before lockdown (2020) and in spite of his broken (healed) hock, he could always keep up with the rest of them. Sadly, in Sept 2023 we discovered Osteosarcoma in his leg, we had his leg surgically removed and although he was in hospital for 5 days, he pulled through and amazed us all at his bravery. He was such a loyal and loving friend of our family, we simply couldn't give up on him. However, in the past 14 days he went downhill rapidly and an X-ray revealed the cancer had spread significantly. He bravely battled on for a few weeks but had no quality of life in the last few days. Our Vet assured us that other vital organs were shutting down. He pass away peacefully yesterday morning at home, with all the family around him, he will forever remain in our hearts, our love and our joyous memories of his crazy character. Thank you to DayBreaks for giving us Paddy and the most wonderful 4 years we have had with him. We are so sad at the silence at home but know that he will be back soon to say hello and chase the Cats from the garden. Much love everyone xxxx'' Thoughts are with you at this terrible time!

What a very happy young lady Viviene is! Her tail never stops wagging. Our lovely volunteer Sue, had her face and hands washed by Viviene every time she came out of her kennel today. :)) she is a real sweetheart. :)) Xxx

Can't believe Elm is still waiting for her forever home. Her sister Alder went home on Thursday and sister Tulip goes home next week. Elm is a very sweet girl. Hope she doesn't have to wait too much longer. Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Another very chilly day! Still waiting for spring!! 🙂 Lots going on today, Polly was unreserved and then found herself reserved again straight away! Xxx Laura had lots of pampers and nail clippings, it was great to see all the girls and boys and their owners. Xxx Erik came in and held another of his free consultation sessions. If you have a problem with your dog, Greyhound or other breed, Erik will be coming in again on the 18th May. Please give us a call to make an appointment. :)) Robbie came in to see us, paperwork completed and homing photo taken! He looks great and is very content. Xxx SO very happy for him! Xxx Thank you so much to everyone who brought in bedding, treats and Raffle prizes . We are very grateful. Xxx Thanks so much to all of our lovely volunteers, so grateful to Angie and Michael for all their help first thing and to everyone for your help throughout the day. Most of the walks were completed without getting wet!! :)) It was a very busy day! 🙂 Xxx

Over the Rainbow Bridge
This week, we said goodbye to the one and only Oscar. He was such a special boy and had my heart from the moment I saw him. He had a huge personality. He was fun, daft, and such a sweet, sensitive soul. There are so many things that inspired Insight Hounds, but without a doubt, Oscar was the biggest. We have so many memories to cherish, and we will forever be grateful he was such a big part of our family. I hope he is with the old gang running around with his favourite duck toy.
