Can you believe it - Easter is just around the corner! Tickets for our raffle go on sale at the kennels tomorrow. There are some lovely hampers full of chocolatey goodness for you, as well as one of treats for your 4 legged friends so they don't feel left out!! You can get your tickets from the kennels or, if you cant make it in, just give us a call and we can happily sell you a few over the phone. The draw will take place at the Easter Pamper day on Saturday 30th March. Angie x

Thanks so much to everyone who came in to help today. :)) Angie cleaned all the kennels first thing :)) Jess D and Diane did several walks this morning, whilst our lovely DofE student Sarah carried out health checks, teeth cleaning and grooming. 🙂 Xxx Many thanks to Jan, Gill and Caroline for walking the Daybreaks girls and boys this afternoon. They were joined by Winnie's new family. 🙂 It made a nice change for them to go out accompanied by a little bit of sunshine!! There is a walk at Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens tomorrow at 10.30am, please come along to enjoy a gentle stroll on a Sunday morning.... sadly can't promise any sunshine but the company of our Greyhounds will make up for it. :)) Xxx

    I’m Homed

This very handsome lad arrived today. :)) Xxx When we saw his racing name, we wondered if his pet name would be Jon, Storm or Jordan....However, when he came in this morning I was told his name was "Incy". His Trainer told me that when he was a puppy, he was very much all gangly legs and looked like an "Incy Wincy Spider" and so became known to all as Incy! :)) Xxx Welcome to Daybreaks Incy! He is a very happy and friendly boy. When Declan and I gave him his bedtime treat this evening, he took it to his bed and burried it under the duvet! Bless him. Xxx

    I’m Homed

It's been 5 years ago yesterday since I took Arry home on foster. How time flies. He gave me a scare at the beginning of the year resulting in my husband taking him to vets. They said because of his age(13) and his heavy breathing they said it might be his time to go Husband was given strict instructions that nothing was to happen unless I was there. Arry came home with antibiotics and metacam. Within a week he was back to being Asbo Arry!!! The breathing was because he was stressed. I'm just looking at him, he has decided with Good Boy Flloyd to take over my at home hospital bed!!! Love this cheeky boy to bits. Happy foster day for yesterday. Xxxx

    I’m Homed

WOW... There is just some dogs I have never met, Ernie being one of them. Tonight I got a message from Helen (Ernie's owner) saying she 'loves greyhounds like we do' along with a picture of her Ernie as he is now, at 12 years strong!! She then DONATED to my Just Giving page for my Press Up Challenege event in July. Extremely grateful to her for getting in touch, donating and (of course) her continued support for Daybreaks!! I'm so happy...

    I’m Homed

Mac has been in foster for several weeks now and is doing well. However his Foster family feel they are unable to offer him a permanent home with them at this time. They are more than happy to look after him until his forever home comes along. :)) If you are interested in finding out more about this handsome lad, please contact us at the kennels on 0121 782 7702. Thank you. Xxx

    I’m Homed

Abbie was an absolute joy to take to Elmdon Park today. Although only arriving at Daybreaks yesterday she behaved as though she had been out and about in the big wide world for years. She travelled well in the car, walked quietly on the lead and met other breeds in a calm and friendly manner. A lovely girl who is going to be a wonderful addition to any home. Hopefully that won't be too long in happening.

    I’m Homed

Gorgeous Abbie arrived this morning. What a super girl! A friendly little soul who was understandably a little nervous when she first arrived. She did enjoy some lunch and went out for a walk this afternoon. Myra, who took her out said she walked beautifully on the lead. 🙂 This evening, after all the other dogs had been tucked up in their beds, we let Abbie have a wander around the kennels and explore her new surroundings. Hope she sleeps well tonight, welcome to Daybreaks pretty girl. Xxx

    I’m Homed

River has had my cuddle tonight. She is such a cute wonderful girl. Didn't Angie long to fall in love with her but her and Nigel's choices were the best for all, but it's never going to be over for Roxy until she has a friend, and she will...

    I’m Homed

I can’t believe this absolutely gorgeous girl has not yet gone. We were going to adopt her and less than 6 days before we were collecting her, our lives took a different turn and we couldn’t manage a second grey-it wouldn’t have been fair on River or Roxy. River is absolutely perfect and whoever adopts her will be so lucky. It literally breaks my heart seeing that she’s still not been snapped up. Please go and have a look at her, you won’t be disappointed.

    I’m Homed

A cuddle for little Winnie tonight. She has been with us for quite a while now. She is a pretty, happy little soul with a big personality! Gill was sitting in her kennel this afternoon fussing her. Everytime she stopped Winnie would paw her to carry on. I think when she goes home she will soon have her owner under all her four paws! :)) Xxx

    I’m Homed

Despite the cold, wet weather it was a busy day for visitors to the kennels today. 🙂 We had handsome boys Tom and Dasher for nail clipping and two families came to meet the dogs. The sand run was busy too, great to see lovely Enzo today. Xxx We also had lots of visitors who very kindly dropped off donations of bedding. They all stopped to say hello to our boys and girls who enjoyed all the extra fuss and attention. :)) Recently homed Lottie popped in with her Mom and helped out with the walks. Xxx We were very lucky to be able to miss the rain completely for the morning walks and only got wet on the last walk of the afternoon. Xxx I am so grateful to everyone for your help today. Thanks so much to Angie for cleaning all of the kennels this morning and thanks to our walkers and volunteers for braving the wind and the rain! The cold didn't seem to bother the dogs who were happy to come out to play with the licki mats and treat games. 🙂 A new month and a new calendar photo, March is the very pretty Bessie with her fabulous ears! Xxx
