Katie (Kitty)
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Today was Kittys first day at home, whilst mum & dad had to go and earn a crust. On return our little girl surprised us by her absence! She had discovered that stairs could be negotiated and big comfy king size beds are an ideal place to have a snooze! Kitty hasn't learnt to come back down on her own though, so dad has had to go out and buy a stair-gate, much to kittys disgust!

Well Breeze is ours now, not really a surprise to many people iam sure. As you know she settled fine and Archive was ok with her. They walk together and share all toys and chews. In the last few days she has stopped finishing any food Archive has left. Thanks to Ruth and all the staff. Xxx

Thank you everyone. Maisie is settling in well and even went and stood by the back door this morning- asking for weewees! She has discovered the sofa but not the stairs yet. At least this gives Pedro (the cat) some space, he is very wary at the moment!! She is a bit of a handful on a walk due to utter over-excitement so have borrowed a halter, and she had a nice uneventful walk with Auntie Zoe and Uncle Steve today. Nothing can ever replace my beautiful Pippa but Maisie definitely helps xx

Hi Rosierecoirder. Sorry to hear Millys gums are red and sore and can appreciate what she might be feeling. So you could also try Corsodyl gel on her gums. It's available at chemists (Boots) and seems to be safe for dogs as verterinary medicine suppliers sell it also. I have used it when Lola had a nasty cut inside her mouth and it healed up very quickly. I always have it in the house for my own personal use so it was to hand when I needed it for Lola. It's not expensive and you only need a thin smear round the gums, or you can use it on a toothbrush if she will tolerate that. Linda xx

Zac
Over the Rainbow Bridge
We tested Zac again at the kennels today and he reacted the same way as he did at my house with my three cats. But other than that he is PERFECT in every other way! He is great with all other breeds, big and small. He toilets outside and is very affectionate and will make a great addition to a lucky family. xx

Thankyou - that sounds really helpful, we shall give it a go! Anything to make her gums look less sore. I'm also reluctant for her to have another dental if it isn't actually going to change the situation - espeically if the teeth are healthy.

Hi Rosierecorder. Our grey Flynn has the same problem. He had all his teeth removed except his 4 canines because his gums were very red & sore. His teeth were healthy but the vet said his gums & jawbone were badly diseased. However, the redness remained, even where he does'nt have any teeth anymore!! We have tried everything, including. several different types of antibiotics, but to no avail. Then at the annual show in october we bought a product called Forever Bright Aloe Vera Toothgel. If we use this 3 or 4 times a week ( you can use it every day ) then the redness & soreness clears up. Although if we stop using it, it does return. You can brush with it or smear it along the gums ( we do both ). You only use a small amount, about the size of a pea - especially if you brush with it - as it does foam up a little.bit. It has a very minty taste & a very slight anaesthetic effect ( humans can use it too ). Flynn was'nt keen on the taste at first, but is ok with it now. It may be worth a try before having the teeth removed as it has certainly helped Flynn & we saw a difference in just a few days!! Not sure if Ruth sells it at kennels. The lady we bought ours from is named Vanessa - Tel :01564703707. Mobile : 07906 934057. ( think she lives near Knowle - but she will post it to you ). Hope this may help - I know we will continue to use it!! good luck. Paul.x.

Zac
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Can I have some advice please? We have reserved Zak as he seems a wonderful dog who is calm and laid back. I spoke to Lorraine today as she has been looking after him for a few days and in her opinion he isn't cat friendly. He was fine with the cats at the kennels but kept chasing Lorraine's 3 cats. I wondered if anyone knows if he has lived with cats before and whether his previous fosterers have any additional information about him and cats. under normal circumstances I would just say he is not for us but he seems so perfect in every other way and his siblings all seem cat friendly too.

Pip
I’m Homed
What can I say about this little boy - he is gorgeous. He is very calm and loves a cuddle (or two or six or eight!) He has settled in as though he has always lived with us and Nell's excitement was great to see, she definitely remembered him - I think he may have thought OH NO, that bossy pushy dog again! He does live up to his name, he is certainly a Pip Squeak (so small for a boy, he is actually smaller than Nell - no wonder she bosses him about and he lets her too, he looks like a puppy next to Flynn and Davey and he is not much bigger than Millie). We are very very happy with him and feel sure that Bobby (Pumpkin) and all our other dogs are looking down at him from Rainbow Bridge and wishing him all the luck in the world. He has been given the posh new house collar we bought for Bobby and is wearing it with pride because it belonged to such a wonderful boy as Bobby. Our thanks go to 'Remint' for looking after him so well, his condition is lovely. Terry and Paul.

Ellie
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Having met Ellie we cannot understand why she has not been given her home yet - she is a lovely little girl - calm and very very friendly. We were torn between her and Pip but wanted to reunite Pip with Nell (aka Molly) for their third time living together (where they will stay!) Please look at Ellie if you are thinking of having a grey - she is a smasher. Terry and Paul (and the 5 greys).

We met this little girl at Ruth's house and she is so lovely - like a smaller version of our Davey. I do hope she finds a good home soon - the temptation is killing me but 5 greys is enough for a 2 bedroomed house! Good luck Jessie - we will be sending good vibes your way until you get your home and you have had my cuddle today. Terry and Paul (plus the greys of course).

Vaccination done. Teeth not so good - all her remaining teeth are healthy but gums still red and sore, metacam for now and when she goes back in 3 weeks for her follow up booster they will look at her mouth again. Probably a viral cause of gingivitis, probably will need another dental and teeth removed but because the teeth she has are good it is a bigger op, longer anaesthetic etc....just don't really feel like there is a clear answer :/
