Thanks Shani it has been difficult, especially with two others who have not been too well. Really miss her, she was very often overlooked by people as she was a small black girl and not particularly 'pretty' (she was beautiful to us) a returnee to the kennels, we had ner for almost 5 years. Xx

Rosie had a very settled first night in her new home. She was very happy to see us this morning, it was so lovely to see her waggy tail. She met a few dogs yesterday on her walk and was not fussed at all. We will keep you informed of how she is getting on.

It's been a year since I lost my beautiful Willow Pillow. I lit a candle for her today, I have just blown it out at the time of her crossing Rainbow bridge. I miss her so very much, she was an amazing girl. Keep running fast and free with your brothers and sisters and all of our beloved hounds and friends who have recently passed. Xxx

NORAH (Salacres Nora) 1st September 2007 - 25th December 2021 God welcomed a very special new Angel on Christmas Day. Very sadly Lorraine had to let her beautiful Norah go to Rainbow Bridge. Xxx Despite being really poorly for a while when she first arrived at Daybreaks, Norah (with an H!) has had a wonderful long and happy life with Lorraine and her family which included two children, three dogs and three cats! I remember Ruth taking me on my first home visit with Norah to meet Lorraine’s cats Angel, Joey and Charlie. Norah was perfect! :)) Norah has always got on great with children, all breeds of dogs and other people’s cats too :)) She was a Diva all her life but the rest of her gang put up with her funny ways! :)) Lorraine absolutely adored Norah and is heartbroken to have lost her. Sending lots of love to her and the rest of the family. Thinking of Sunny and Al her canine brothers. I know they miss her too. Run free lovely Norah...go find Jess, Sara and Charlie. Xxxxx

Merry Christmas from Pops and I. We are having a lovely time here, he has settled in really well and loves being allowed on the sofa and the bed and exploring the garden. He has had some lovely tasty presents from his new owners which he is enjoying very much. Corinne took him out with Ozzie the cocker spaniel yesterday and they are getting on well. I'm so grateful to you all for letting me look after him. He is a beautiful, gentle boy.

  • Daybreaks Diary!

    I’m Homed

It was so eerie to walk through the gate this morning to a quiet and empty kennels - it didn't seem right somehow! I was soon joined by Bertie, who was dropped back to us following his overnight post-op stay. Bertie enjoyed pottering around the kennels during the morning whilst we got ready for the Grand Raffle Draw, and started on the mammoth sort out & tidy up! Ruth went "live" on Facebook at 10.00am to draw the raffle - congratulations to the winners, especially 1st prize winner Jacqui who has so generously donated back half of her winnings to the kennels, and massive thanks to everyone who took part, we have raised an amazing amount for Daybreaks - your continued support is just incredible and we are so very grateful. x Following the draw, the lovely Bertie went out on trial - fingers crossed for him that all goes well and he settles into his new home. We then had a visit from Rob who brought in an amazing donation of treats, toys and blankets that had been collected by his work colleagues - together with some signed Coventry Wasps Rugby kit for us to fundraise with. We send huge thanks to Rob, his colleagues and Coventry Wasps players for their kindness. It was a chilly, damp day and once our final visitors had gone we decided that as there were no more appointments in the diary, and it was very quiet indeed, that we would sneak the afternoon off and close up at 2.00pm!! We are so grateful to all our foster parents for looking after our boys & girls over the festive period, enabling us all to have a proper break and a chance to blitz the kennels and get neat & tidy - ready to come back with a vengeance in 2022!! Although the kennels is "closed", someone will be on site for a few hours each day to provide food collection or sand run bookings - but this is strictly by appointment as it will depend who is covering each day and what times they are available so please do phone & book your slot if you need food or fancy some post Christmas exercise in the sand run! Of course, we will be at the end of the phone for support or advice if needed - please don't hesitate to call. Well, I will raise my glass today to all our friends and supporters and wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and hope that 2022 will be a better year for us all. Have yourselves a great Christmas, and above all - stay safe. Look forward to seeing you all next year as Daybreaks Trust moves onwards and upwards into the future. Thankyou so much for your support during the past year. Angie xxx
