I just wanted to let you all know that Joe has settled in beautifully. He is so loving and affectionate. He's a little stinker for pinching food but apart from that I can't fault him at all. He loves lying in his bed by the radiator and having cuddles. My boys are adore him and he adores us already. So happy that we could give him a home <3 xxx

Jetlucy my heart breaks for you, I totally understand that you have found it difficult to talk about Jet, it's still so raw, we lost our beautiful boy Jack to a stroke over 4 years ago, he was only 8, and I still cry every day for him, no it doesn't get easier you just learn how to live with it, it broke my heart when we lost Jack so I know your heart is broken too. When I feel sad I make myself just think of how utterly stunning he was and how he made me laugh and all his quirky ways, I'm sure you have so many fabulous memories of your beautiful boy to remember, he will always be by your side looking out for you. Keeping you in my thoughts xxxxxx

Lucy, it was really lovely to see you and your beautiful daughter Mia yesterday. Mia has grown up so quickly and she did love all the dogs! :)) I'm sure When the time is right Jet will lead you to the right wonderful Greyhound to join your family. They will never replace Jet but you will fall in love with them for who they are. Xxx

Thank you for your kind words shanishoo. Yes, we lost my beautiful boy 1st July, he was only given 6 months back in September as was diagnosed with heart failure totally out of the blue, but we managed to keep him going for 9 months when he decided on his morning walk that he couldn't carry on anymore and sadly collapsed in my arms and had a heart attack. The only saving grace was that I didn't have to make a decision in the end or him go to the vets which he was petrified about. Its the most heartbreaking thing and I still cry about him everyday. People keep saying It'll get easier but it's just not. He was literally the most kind, special boy and really didn't deserve to be taken so young (he had just made 10 but I still thought he would have years). I haven't been able to write anything on his page yet as feel like that's admitting he's not here. We had a black lab puppy shortly after as we were due to see him before we lost jet and don't get me wrong he's lovely and brilliant with mia the 2 year old feral child, which was the only reason we went for a puppy as, like I said and Kate witnessed yesterday, she is still so young but adores animals but doesn't understand she's rough yet, but my heart totally lies with greyhounds and I just need jet to send me the right one. I will never ever get another jet but hopefully I will get another in the future xxx

Thank you Auntie Kate and Auntie Jo. Mom had to promise never to ask for another greyhound again to get TC to agree to have Sydney. Mom says that doesn’t stop her from demanding, suggesting or showing pictures though!!! Sydney Is really small and cute and I am being really good with him, even when mom put him on my back, cheek! Lubs you. Florence xxx

We arrived at the kennels this morning, Denise had already fed the hounds and cleaned the kennels, unfortunately the hose was froze, so cleaning the feeding runs was done with buckets of water! The chicken house had leaked so Denise cleaned it out and gave the girls nice clean dry bedding. What was a fairly quiet day in the diary proved to be anything but. The two dogs that were due in last Friday arrived, they are gorgeous, Boss a lovely black lad and Julie a pretty fawn girl. It was far too cold to bath them so they had their welcome health checks done and got tucked up with nice warm fleeces in their kennels. A late viewing resulted in Bess being reserved. Swift had a further viewing to introduce her to the families children and other dogs, all went very well :)) Millie who has been on long term foster was signed up officially today by our lovely volunteer Gloria. X Morning walks were done but this afternoon walks due to the weather were abandoned, however, when there was a lull in the snow flurries the inmates had a little time in the sand run. Despite the weather the sand run was very popular today. Many thanks for the bedding donations. Thanks to our intrepid volunteers for all their help today, it was ffffreezing, we all felt it despite trying to keep busy. I think it may now be breakfast time, although I may forego that for a couple of medicinal glasses of wine!!! Stay safe, well and warm, looking at the weather forecast over the next couple of days it looks like it may be almost tropical at 12 degrees!!

We had a lovely hour with Kate and the dogs yesterday (sorry for holding you up Kate!) It was the first time I've been since loosing my beautiful boy but wanted to bring the dogs some Christmas treats and get our calendar. It was very emotional going without jet but also lovely memories of a place that gave jet and I the chance to meet and have an amazing life with each other for a few years, just wish we could have had more, but as I always say, a life time with him wouldn't have been long enough. Mia had a fabulous time with the dogs but demonstrated to Kate how confident she is with dogs but doesn't realise yet that not all dogs appreciate been pulled, poked and messed with as much as she likes too, so needs to be a very special, understanding dog to put up with our family but I hope when jet feels the time is right he will send the next one to daybreaks for us as I have such a void in my life that will never be filled but can hopefully help xxx
