Good Boy Flloyd is brighter today and the bleeding has stopped. I'm sure in a couple of days he will be feeling much better for having the bad teeth removed. Thanks to all who wished him well. Xx

Daybreaks Diary!

What a quiet day today - and thanks to the Friday Team things are winding down for the day here, so I have taken the opportunity to grab the computer again. The day got off to a great start as the lovely Jim went off to his new home - wishing him and his new family many happy times ahead. I met new girl Swift - what a lovely girl she is,she seems quite happy and certainly enjoyed her food! I brought in some sweet potato & green bean mash to give to the doggies - I am pleased to say it was something of a hit! Our lovely Mikey especially enjoyed something with a little bit of a different flavour and texture - we didn't really need to wash his bowl it had been licked so clean!! Morning & afternoon walks were done, along with health checks and a bit of "spring" cleaning and bedding sorting. Plans for Santa's visit on 5th December are well under way. We hope lots of you can make it to this outdoor event and bring your hounds along to visit Santa. The Grand Christmas Raffle draw which was going to be made then, has now been extended until Christmas Eve giving plenty of time to get your tickets for some lovely prizes. Dont forget the online auction starts tomorrow - pop over to the Facebook page to take a look. Most items have been added, but I have a few more to go on this evening when I get home. Yet another weekend is almost upon us - it will be Christmas before you know it!! Tonight's toast is to the beautiful Jess, wishing her a speedy recovery, and all our residents, hoping forever homes will soon be theirs. Whatever you are up to this weekend, stay safe & enjoy. Good Boy Flloyd was at the vets today, I have my own seat there now! He went in for a dental. Collected him at 4.30, 18 teeth lighter which was better than I thought it would be :(( He did bleed quite a bit after the op but it had stopped when I collected him, he has started bleeding again at home so will monitor him carefully. So now I have 2 bleeders at home as gummy Max (Gummers) is bleeding intermittently with his nasal tumour. He is still eating (lots), trotting around and is completely cheeky when it comes to treats!! All I can say is thank goodness for a steam mop, washing machine and anti bac wipes!

Daybreaks Diary!

It started off with us short of two of our regular volunteers, but we gained an extra Wednesday walker, I would like to welcome Ian back who previously volunteered at the kennels. Sadly Ruth had an urgent vet run this morning, little Jess was in the run after breakfast and was holding her head to one side, she was also a little wobbly. We suspected that she had had a stroke, the vets seem to think that was the case. She was undergoing tests and Ruth was taking her home for observation. Everything crossed for this little girl. Buddy was signed up today by a lovely couple that Ruth knows from the days when she volunteered at Monmore!! He is a lucky boy and massive thanks to Caroline who had fostered him after his previous owner sadly passed away. Mentioning Caroline, she came in to drop Buddy off for his homing and was convinced to take Flower on foster for a few days for further evaluation. Thanks very much Caroline. Xx There is a new arrival tomorrow, she was due to arrive on Friday but had a call to say she is arriving tomorrow, keep an eye on the website. Many thanks to everyone for their help today, as ever very much appreciated. It's looking very festive at the kennels with the multinn Christmas trees up and the festive honesty box set up! On a final note, the Simon Stevens Daybreaks Fundraiser is doing well, let's push this and 'put it out there', share far and wide, there have even been donations fro the USA! You can follow the link on Facebook and donations can also be made directly at the kennels or by phone. Simons wish was to secure the future of the kennels, he was such a lovely, selfless man who always thought of others first (although I secretly think he sometimes questioned Ruth's logic on some of her schemes, he had the rolling eyes down to perfection)!
