Sadly Bonnie reacted to the cats on her second test and therefore is now unreserved 🙁

Hi, I have got a hi-viz coat for Honey (which I have to say she is ashamed to wear!) but it says quite clearly on it "nervous dog - please keep your dog away" it is as though she actually knows what it say!!!! I would also suggest carrying in your pocket (and I know it is difficult) but a plastic bottle full of water to throw over any dog that comes charging towards you. I have only met one dog owner who actually appreciated that Honey was petrified when a loose dog charges towards her and happily put his dog on a lead. You usually get the standard "my dog won't hurt your dog" - they seem to totally miss the point - my Honey is having major heart palpitations! I have started taking Honey to a mixed dog class with Sally Rapson in Sutton Coldfield on a Tuesday and she is getting a bit braver with a couple of very bouncy springer spaniels even when they are off lead doing recalls and I am hoping this will give her a bit more confidence to see that not all dogs off lead are going to charge at her - she has in the past had labradors charge at her and a dalmatian actually bit her behind after she had walked past him on the beach. It is very difficult to help them recover their confidence after incidents like that but over time she is getting a bit better.

Woof, woof Ripple, love it. Sounds like you've got your slaves (whoops hoomans) wrapped round your paws. I do the same with the car, even got my slaves (whoops, hoomans) to buy a different car, but I'm still too much of a lady to jump in. Try this one Ripple, I lie on my bed looking at my Mommy with my big cute eyes. Then, start to rub your foot over your ears. Big tip, never break eye contact. My Mommy then comes and gives me ear rubs. If she stops I'll hook my foot over her arm so she gets the message and she rubs my ears again. Like you say Ripple, they're total suckers, but you gotta love 'em! Love Emily xxxxx

We've had Boo with us for nearly 6 weeks now and all going well. We've managed to sort the sliding on the floors, the crying at night etc. She's so affectionate and a joy to have. We just need some pointers in one area.... She's great on the lead but is completely terrified if a dog not on a lead approaches her (and I mean completely terrified) - she's had bad experiences with other dogs in the past but I hate to see her so frightened and don't want her to miss out on days out etc - any tips would be really appreciated.

Well its nearly two weeks since i moved in and flashy has finally stopped growling at me when i go near his bed. I am starting to play with him in the garden but i still get nervous and want to come in. Yesterday mum put the washing on the line and i was ok until the wind moved the washing and then it was straight into the garage for me. I've also found that if flashy gets in the car first i give the puppy dog eyes to mum and dad as i am retired you know and it works as they feel sorry for me and pick me up and put me in the car (suckers) . We have tuna on our food and chicken pieces before mum goes to work and we get cuddles when she gets back and cuddles when kieran gets home and cuddles when the fat bloke gets home. I still love you aunty Ruth but boy have i landed on my feet here. XXX

Sadly things were not working out for Bolt and he is coming back to the kennels. Caroline, one of our volunteers, has kindly agreed to foster him until he can come back to the kennels and I have heard from her this morning that he has been very settled overnight and been a pleasure to have.... we need to find this fabulous fella a home as soon as we can.....
