  • Dingo

    I’m Homed

Hi Dingo'sMom, our grey Marnie was very nervous of other dogs (any shape or size) at first, it just takes time and patience and a few meet ups with other dogs. We have had Marnie for 9 months now, and she has regular mates, Alf the GSD cross especially, who have helped her gain confidence. I'm sure he will be the same. We met Dingo at Sutton on the walk a few weeks back, he's a lovely boy and stood with Marnie for ages no problems at all. He was so good I had trouble giving his lead back to his foster mom! Good luck x

We were at Daybreaks today, and we took you for a walk. You are a gorgeous girl and am so pleased you have been reserved cause I was desperately trying to find a way of squeezing you in with our other 3 greys.....a hyperatve 7 year old child and a nuerotic budgie...

How lovely to meet you and your Mum at the Stratford walk this morning. You and Orla - whose collar your Mum was admiring - have the same Dad...Larkhill Jo. This is where the collar came from: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Dogs-/20742/i.html?_ipg=&_from=&_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ssn=7hpc

Hi Rob & Evan, If ever you need any help or advice just ask any number of us. If you need anything just ask & we will always do our best for you. If you ever need a chat about Marco (& his penchant for vimto!) then I'm more than happy to help where I can, if I don't know the answer I will direct you, straight away, to someone who will. Although American, I found retired greyhounds for dummies a good starter book-you can get on amazon 2nd hand for few pounds. It's strange here without him but we're so pleased he's met you two today. Fingers crossed for home visit-keep me posted. Helen

  • Tinker (Diamond)

    I’m Homed

Today we have popped round to Webbs with Tinker to check out the RGT roadshow and to see if she would be ok to join in and she was a propper little star. She has let all the visitors give her fuss and she really loved all the treats she was getting. We loved showing her off and my daughter loved talking about our first month with her to all the visitors. Will have to do it again soon.

Forgot to mention, when we met him this morning he looked so dejected and forlorn and I fully understood why nobody has taken him home. However, once away from the kennels he became a totally different dog. He's very alert and inquisitive, quite the opposite of our dog and certainly keeps us on our toes as he's curious about everything as I suppose everything's new to him (including my glass of rioja which he found briefly, much to my disgust as I had to throw it away). He also follows us everywhere, wondering where we're going every time we move - my daughter has just arrived home from work and he's leaning against her for company.

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Hi Guys Rory has settled in with us really well, made himself totally at home, not keen on his bed yet, prefers the floor or the sofa when we're not around to kick him off. We've had a few toilet training issues, totally understandable but we're working on them and now send him out whenever he has a drink which seems to be working. He and our 8 year old grey are happy ignoring each other. He's been playing fetch in the lounge/diner with a tennis ball with our son which was really great to watch as our grey has no concept of bringing the ball back or handing it over afterwards. We went out for dinner for a couple of hours with no issues and he was very attentive to our friends when we all returned. He loves nothing more than to lean into you whilst having a fuss and much as we tried to give him space today, he had no intention of leaving us alone. We all watched a film this afternoon and he lay up against the foot of the sofa whilst my daughter tickled his chin/neck and whenever she stopped, he prompted her for more. Rory is still available for homing, we will post more details in a couple of days time once he has fully settled in to our routine.
