Billy came to stay with us yesterday afternoon in the hopes that Hope, Snip and Rigsby can show him how lovely it is to live in a home and how to relax around people and other dogs. He settled more quickly than I expected, with him lying down with no panting within 2 hours. He is more relaxed with me than he is with Paul, but happier to go up to him when Paul is sitting down. Billy found some of the other dogs’ toys this afternoon and was playing with them which was lovely to see, and yesterday our nearly-12- year old girl Hope was flirting with him and they were play bowing together! So sweet!

Saw Bullet today when we made Warrior now Steve,our own. Bullet is a stunner and so friendly, a true gentle giant. My husband fell in love with him but at the moment Steve and Fat neck Finn are so good together that don't want to rock the boat, Steve will need some extra TLC as he is losing his "pom-poms" " on Friday. Maybe he will think someone has stolen them like he steals everything that is not nailed down lol. still love him to bits. Hope Bullit will soon find his forever home before my hubby weakens lol xx

It would be so great if this gorgeous young lad could find a home of his own He is very playful and has lots of energy, he walks really well on the lead. He had a fantastic time in the sand run to use up some energy and then had a lovely snooze. An absolutely brilliant boy xxxx

Rigsby was 12 today (well - yesterday now as I’ve posted this after midnight!). He had birthday sausages which he kindly (!!!) shared with his sisters Hope and Snip and foster boy Billy.

Daybreaks Diary!

What a crazy manic day it turned out to be, I thought my head was going to explode! Thanks to everyone for their help today, I really appreciate it. We had one homing booked for Joy, now Nala, good luck little girl. There was a viewing for Paddy, now Tristram, his family have homed from us before and very sadly lost their lovely boy a few weeks ago and their two girly greys wanted a brother for company. Billy was bright and playful this morning, he does get nervous if there are lots of people around. A massive thanks to his lovely foster family (who have fostered several nervous hounds before and helped them become more confident) for taking him home this afternoon, he was a little reluctant to go but will have three 'friends' to show him the ropes. It was one of their dogs birthdays today, happy birthday Rigsby, and they had all had sausages, there was some saved for Billy, I'm sure he won't find them too scary! Lorna had several pampers today, its great to see the dogs looking and smelling so beautiful when they emerge from the bathroom, some like it more than others. All the residents, or what was left of them had morning and afternoon walks, the weather stayed dry for the most part. Massive thanks to Liz for taking Mikey the Younger out for a big adventure, he went to Brueton park, the nature reserve and shopping, although Liz didn't come back with a new coat, it seems Mikey couldn't decide which one she should choose (I think he just wants to go shopping again)! It's always fantastic to hear how they get on and how much their confidence improves over a couple of trips out. The Halloween Howl tickets are now available to buy at the kennels and online. If you have a problem with online ordering please give the kennels a call and we will happily take payment over the phone. It promises to be a greyt second event for the kennels. Please come along if you can, it is all in aid of the hounds. Well, as always, take care and stay safe. X
