Hi Wispa'sMum, Just curious but, if the dogs have to wait on an 8 month list to come into daybreaks, where do they live in the meantime, is it with the trainer? Hope you dont think i'm being rude, but i have a greyhound as a pet from Monmore, (hope you dont mind me using your site) she had came in on the day that i went up there so i was very lucky, as i was looking for a cat friendly dog. and i just had to have her (you know what its like lol) she had lived with cats, and she is certainly cat/furries friendly, but was not house trained 🙂 She raced until she was 4, i got her when she was almost 5. So do you think she had been on a waiting list all that time, nobody has ever explained this to me, but it all seems to make sense now. Her racing name was Grange Sunshine and she had raced at Hall Green and Perrybar, and yet as i said I had her from Monmore Cannock. Just asking as you may be able to shed some light, sorry for asking but you are never to old to learn!

Being really good, if anything she is getting quite cheeky xxxx She is one of the pack, and I get her and Sam confused at times xxxx Hoping to be at the sutton park walk, I'm not sure whether it may be too much for her with large amounts of people, but we will judge it nearer the time xxxx

When we first rehomed our hound, she was not sure about the children and we had a few instances of growling at them when they gave her too much attention. Such a shame as all they wanted to do was love her! We were advised to make sure that she understood that she was below them in the pack hierarchy, so we have encouraged them to feed her. This has worked well and we don't have problems, but I don't think she'll ever be a cuddle monster, it's just not in her nature.

Macca is doing fine after his dental work - Andre has looked after him wonderfully. That should be all the dental work completed (to Macca's great relief). He's been a bit subdued for the last couple of days, but now getting back to normal. He's turning out to be a bit of a water freak - loves wading into the pools in the park - this morning he tried sniffing a leaf under water - probably won't do that again! His coat is now hanging up to dry!

How wonderful that Bob is back with you. We have an eight year old, and I've encouraged him to feed Chewey regularly and give him treats etc. He's also been told that when Chewey is asleep he is never to approach him. Even with this Chewey is less interested in him than he is with us... Not sure whether this will help or not!

Thank you for your positive comments. We made the wrong decision to send Bob back and we could have lost him forever if someone had turned up and given him a home. After the incident we felt that he would be happier in a quieter home. He has never really been that fussed for the children, which I can quite understand! He sniffs them and puts up with their fuss but not like with us, his Mum and Dad who could do anything to him and he wouldn't mind. Any ideas to encourage this bond with the kids would be welcomed. We had a terrible weekend without him, and felt very guilty that because one of our children decided to invade his peace, we punished Bob! Thank God nobody wanted him that weekend because I would have suffered a broken heart. He is my quiet, lazy baby and I wouldn't change him. We are thinking that maybe a pal would help Bob to be less nervous, he loves being with other dogs and we sometimes feel he is lonely of his own kind. Although getting a second is rather daunting, more so than deciding to get a dog in the first place.
