Another great day with Paddy, he came for a walk to the school today and was completly uninterested in anyone! haha thats great because nothing seems to faze him!! Deb will you look out for me on sunday at the dog walk, Id love to have a bit more of a chat with you as you were so helpful when we first met Paddy!! see you all sunday with Paddy!! ps he bit the nose of a red teddybear and steals Isabelle's slipper!! this just adds to his charm! xx

Oh I do wish I had space/ money for another! 🙁 He's so beautiful...reminds me a bit of my Millie with his little tucked under tail. I bet he will be a lovely kind and gentle friend in time, he just needs lots of love and security, which I think they all benefit from really. Good luck handsome! x

Loving the new pictures 🙂 so so so so happy that he has settled nicely and is starting to calm down! I'm glad his showing his true wonderful nature to you as quickly as he showed to me! Going to miss my warm welcomes and our walks around the kennels alfie boy! ahhh liver treats, ohh how he will be spoilt in his retired life, love it, he deserves all of the fuss and love. xxx

Hi Ruth, i managed to get Tink to the vets yesterday, he said it was most likely an infection due to her spay and has given her antibiotics. Tink wasn't very happy with him when he tried to get a urine sample and really cried 🙁 But we've given her extra special snuggles and TLC, and Sid was so pleased to see her when we got home, it was really lovely to see 🙂 Thanks for been on the other end of the phone for when i'm panicking. Hi Jenni & Cookie,we have Blue & Ben,they have been together about 14 months,we had Blue about 4 months before we had Ben.Blue was fine by herself,but we have found having Ben has been good company,and settled her down when we go out. We have not found any problems with two,as they get on really well together,and we believe that this is the most important thing,get this right and it should be easy.One will be the boss,hopefully Cookie as that would probably work better,but take Ruth's advice.We have been lucky with ours and honestly have no regrets and would recommend it. Why not come to sutton walk on sunday and chat to a few people about it,(i'll be the fat one!)

Ronnie doing very well, he his settling in well love sleeping on the sofa and pushing the wife off. Does not jump much on the table now a very loving boy.

Big test for star today as I had to go to work 🙁 so she was left with the other hounds for a few hours (cats out of the way though !) No problems, neighbours reported that it was all quiet, and a very happy waggy girl greeted me with the others and went straight to the treat cupboard lol xxxx You wouldn't believe how much more confident she is already xxxx

Oh boy! Is this fella just so gorgeous! He has come home with me and I have managed to get him to come to me with some liver treats and he has found himself a comfy place on the window seat. It took him about an hour to stop panting and he is starting to stress less now.....

This greyhound is the most special boy! was a very sad day when he got injured, but he pulled through and his leg has got stronger and stronger 🙂 one word to describe him would be "charming" everyone that meets him fulls in love with his charming ways! his so clever, i did some basic clicker training with him and he picked it up instantly as all he ever wants to do is please. his so gentle and loving, always wanting affection and then he has his little hyper moments were he bounces around (bit of a pain when his leg was in a cast/splint as i think he forgot he was injured) . he walks like a show pony, prancing around, soo funny to watch as when he wee's he jumps over the spot as he doesn't want to put his back legs in it (yet he tends to wee on his front legs ahaa). Such a shame he retired at the time i was off to university but i know he has found a wonderfull home 🙂 Him and Goldikova were my favourites, both perfect greys, they made me full in love with this wonderful breed. All my love brave boy xxxxxxxxxxxx

Alfie has spent several days with Ray one of our volunteers after his hair raising arrival into the Trust last Wednesday. I am going to fetch him today and he will be at the kennels during the day and will come home with me each night to help him gain some confidence. Ray has told me that he is amazing in the house - clean during the night and starting to become gradually braver when Ray and his wife are around.

We gave Jester a bath on arrival (as we do with all the new arrivals), blow dried him and settled him in his kennel. We had had a delivery in the week of loads of pillows from a local hotel so we piled his bed high so he could really nestle down into them to feel extra snuggly after his bath. Yesterday morning he was standing in his kennel, wagging his tail and had been clean in the night 🙂 He is an absolutely gorgeous boy - gentle on the lead and very affectionate.... he will make a wonderful pet I am sure!

Hi Mutty22jaf - a Trust dog is a grey that has been been rehomed through Perry Barr Retired Greyhound Trust. Lester was on the waiting list to come into Daybreaks Kennels (the list for the boys waiting to come in is approximately 8 months long) and his trainer found him a home to go to directly rather than having to wait for him to come to the kennels. Being still homed through the Trust (just never stepping foot...or should I say paw through Daybreaks) means that Lester's owners will have the back up and support if they need it from us as well as his trainer whilst Lester adjusts to home life.

I am so happy to hear about Dora - and I am so pleased to hear you are helping her to settle into her new life with such support. Great news that she hasn't wet her bed as I warned you she might - she used to do it every day after Tink her sister and kennel mate was rehomed 🙁 We are always here for you so if you need to, please pick up the phone. Hope your cold gets better soon and I am sure you will be up at the kennels with Dora, looking after us all again! xxxx

Hello to all, meant to give you an update on Dora sooner than this but a cold caught hold of me & I have been really tierd. Dora is wonderfull in the car within moments she has settled & lay down with her head on my daughter's leg. We took her straight into the back garden before going in the house & she relieved herself straight away. Next took her in the house and she had a good explore as the little explorer would, lol. Next sorted out her tea, she ate most of it but left a liottle that she kept going back to 4 more. We sat in the lounge with her with her muzzle & lead on to easy her into meeting the cats. At one point she was lay on her bed in front the fireplace & the 2 cats were in the room with her & she was fine till they moved & she would then try to charge at them, she would also go upto the older cat to sniff her & at one point licked her nose with no problem then on another walk by Dora opened her mouth & looked asthoughshe would have tried to take a gingerly bite at the cats fur, cat took no notice. I feel lots of work is required her, but I'm not going to give up. She was really bril;lliant through the night we took her out about 10ish & she did not ask again till 2ish where I took her out & she was really good. Came back in ^ she settled downstairs on the sofa with her legs in the air, which is the way my partner found her in the morning. The was no mess & no wet bed Ruth.
