So many people have just about said it all.....my warts with having 2: Reubes was totally not bothered by anything on walks until I got Blossom, she has led him astray -but only a tiny bit. Both are still really easy to handle, and I only have trouble with other loose dogs or owners not listening when I say keep back - in case my 2 lurch, which they will but are improving over time. My 2 lie together, but that wont necessarily be the case for you. Bloss still likes time out, so leaves the lounge whereas Reubes is always with me and its no bother at all. Bloss shouts for her tea, Reubes didn't until Madam came along!! But its all good fun I promise, def let Cookie choose the new dog along with your daughter though. You'll know when its right.

This girl is sooo lovely, a real character. In just over a week she is less shy and nervous, a chatty girl who makes the funniest little sounds to communicate with you. She gets on well with the other hounds and we are working on the cat interest xxxx She loves running with the others, and gets really excited when she hears a lead jingle. Following us around the house less, I think that is because she feels safe and less dependant. It's really amazing how these beautiful creatures learn so quickly xxxx

Hi jenni, we have had Sid for just over a year. We were looking at having another grey and weighing up - should we/shouldnt we, then we saw Tink, a 1 year old , who we brought home a week ago 🙂 Sid and Tink are complete opposites, she is a live wire and Sid is your typical couch potato. It has been a hard week, as she is so young and not doing too well with her toilet training, and they have both had a few grumbles. Tink really loves sid though, and he is coming round slowly, but i know it will be worth the hard work in the end. Good luck in whatever you decide 🙂 suex

Hi Jenni and Cookie! Hope Cookie is feeling a bit better. It's not nice having a dicky tum. We have 2 also, Lola & lena. Like you we'd had Lola 6 months and had been kind of thinking about another. Lola was absolutely fine on her own really, but we are both out at work and thought it might be nice for Lola to have some company. I love having the 2 especially as ours are so completely different. Like Mand, we have one who is so laid back she is horizontal (that's Lola) and then there is Lena! Lola chose Lena as the girl we'd had our eye on was a complete no-no for Lola. 12 months on now with Lena and it's so much fun. Here's my warts bit....Walking 2 non-cat friendly greys can be a challenge. Ours both react to cats and squirrels but you get used to dealing with it. Lena also is not brilliant with other breeds when we are out (Lola's fine) but is getting better with training and patience. Also at first I was nervous getting 2 out of the car on my own, but you do learn how to deal with it with practice. It's a personal choice but I love having 2 and especially because ours are such different personalities. Best of luck in whatever you decide. Linda x

i have always owned at least two dogs, different breeds before the greys came along and generally find that although they love our company they also thrive on the canine companionship, we have three boys and all of them chose me and then each other, they are good together and i never worry about having to leave them whilst at work. the best thing to do is to take your little human and your lovely Cookie monster and let them have a look at the kennels whether there is a grey that fits their bill..you will know instantly when it's right...good luck 🙂 xxx

We'd had our boy 12 months before we decided to get another. Thought it might be nice to add a girl, so went up to the kennels to walk Gent and one little girl together, but it just didn't feel right. About a month later we met Emily and felt she was 'the one'. Gent didn't seem to object, so we reserved her there and then. We did everything Ruth told us to do when she came home and introduced them both outside the house, took them both for a short walk together first before bringing her through the front door. She was was crated at night and during the day when we weren't there for the first week, but I can honestly say that we haven't had a problem at all. Gent just seemed to accept her from day one. Emily is a very lively little girl, as opposed to Gent, who is one chilled out dude. They seem to compliment each other and we wouldn't be without either of them. Probably the best thing to do would be to take Cooks up to the kennels and see how she gets on with the others, walking her and another grey will help to see how you feel with a dog on each arm too. Just glancing over at my other half and he's speaking 'grey' to Emily, who says she wants her tea - NOW!! and rubbing the ears of Gent, who is giving endless bows and wagging his tail. I agree it's not double the work having two, but it's certainly double the fun, double the cuddles and double the love. We'll be in Mell Square, Solihull this weekend with our two if you wanted to pop up for a chat, but otherwise good luck. Mand x

I think it's Twiggy who has to put up with them isn't it! I need a very relaxed dog who will put up with the pint sized peril (Maggie my 3 year old daughter, not Cookie!) But I think I would be happy with her having some company in the day and he'd love another dog to tear around the garden with.

As the proud owner of 7 I can assure you 2 is no more trouble than 1 , you have just got to choose the right grey for your circumstances. Most greys love the company of other greys so normally it is quite straightforward introducing another.

Hi all, Cookie's been with us six months now and is doing really well, although is flat out on the sofa with a bad tummy today. Cooks is really well settled, although she is still stalked by my daughter (who is learning!) and still a bit shy. I am debating whether to get another grey to give her some company and to help her confidence. I'd be really grateful if people could give me the warts and all of having two dogs rather than one. I've considered the practical - cash, car etc but it's whether it will benefit Cookie. Any advice welcome. Jenni
