Daybreaks Diary!

Another busy day.... Beautiful Parker arrived this morning and was reserved this afternoon! 🙂 He has a lovely family waiting to take him home. Xxx We also had viewings for the girls, but not quite right this time. However we have more viewings tomorrow. :)) Our fabulous Alex went off to his new home this afternoon. We will miss him but so happy he has been given the chance of a wonderful home. He jumped up into the car and was ready to start his new life with his super new family. Xxx We had several visitors for food including handsome Stanley and recently homed Yoda! He looked fab. 🙂 Xxx Our morning walkers spotted a little wood mouse near the top of the lane, obviously in distress. when Jess arrived, as she is now a vet nurse we sent her to investigate. Sadly he was quite poorly so Jess took him to the veterinary surgery where she works and he was pts . (: Thanks so much to everyone for their help today. Wishing everyone a very Happy bank holiday...can't believe it's May already! Xxx Xxx

Samson

I am so sad that Samson is still in the kennels. He is a lovely gentle boy, walks beautifully on the lead and has been to the park with Liz_Beth and had a glowing report. Please don't be put off by his size, my biggest greyhound curled up into the smallest dog, much smaller than my small girls!! Yes he is a big black dog, but no matter what the colour they should all be given the chance of a loving forever home, it's their personality that counts, not the colour. Please will someone give this boy his forever home. X

Kylie
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Our little Kylie has amazingly reached another milestone today; 15 years and 10 months old, and now as an only-dog. She's managed a little sniff outside the front garden and I'm just about to do her some pasta. We're taking it day by day with her due to her age but she seems happy and bright enough, even if a bit wobbly.

Ha ha Jetlucy I am exactly th same, our boy Douggie doesn't suffer separation anxiety at all but I certainly do, the longest he is ever left is 2 1/2 hours on a Wednesday morning when I volunteer at our local PDSA shop, but I can't stop thinking about him and I rush back home, I walk through the door and he doesn't even get up and greet me, I know that's a great result but I can't help but feel a bit sad sometimes lol, little tinker xxxxxx

Wish I'd have watched the news, would have loved to see you all. Jet has always suffered with separation anxiety but as years have gone on he's so much better now and will happily be left...however I've now realised its actually me that has the separation anxiety from him! 90% of the time he's with me anyway and even more so through lock down and working from home but realised the other day, when I leave him now I'm so anxious to get back and give him more of a welcome when I return than he does me! Wonder if there's any training that can be done for humans lol?! Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

It was a whirlwind of a day today, the time just raced past! Morning walks took place in the sunshine, with our eyes firmly on the building black clouds! The handsome George arrived mid morning, what a lovely lad he is. Stood beautifully for his arrival checks, and enjoyed his bath and his lunch. Our second newbie Penny arrived early afternoon, and what a lovely little girl she is. A little more wary of the bath, she was still a good girl & patiently had all her checks. We dodged the showers for the afternoon walk, and Penny seemed happy to be out exploring her new surroundings. We weren't joined by George - as he was being viewed, and reserved!! On our return to kennels, we learned that Penny is booked for a viewing tomorrow! We definitely need that turnstile fitted at the main gate! Returnee girlies Trudie & Chloe were both struggling a little with being back in kennels, so they were paired up in one of our bigger kennels - and are both much happier now. They obviously thrive and gain confidence in the company of another doggy companion - and the good news is that both have viewings booked for tomorrow, so fingers crossed. Goodness me - what a Bank Holiday weekend it's turning out to be! Well, as is usual I will be raising a glass or two of wine later to toast a busy but successful Daybreaks day, and send good wishes for tomorrow's viewings. Cheers one and all - as ever, stay distanced, stay safe and have a good Bank Holiday. Angie xx

Caesar came to the kennels with Erik and Barney this afternoon. They really do get on well together and he is loving getting out and about and being part of Erik's family. However I understand he has been stealing Charlotte's sofa when he gets chance which doesn't impress her at all! :)) Xxx
