Over the Rainbow Bridge
Russ does not like to get wet. So we thought he needed a bath. When you mention the word bath he runs off down stairs and it’s a battle to move him. So I came out the bathroom wetter then he was. It was funny but hard work.

Lisa went for another short walk this morning and this afternoon a stroll around the sand run. Her leg is getting much stronger now, hopefully in a few weeks she will be almost brand new! She is such a happy girl and loves any sort of fuss. She would benefit from a home where there are other dogs for company....so if you are looking for a sister to you excisting dog or dogs, please give Lisa a canance. Xxx

A little dryer today! :)) George and his Dad came back for a visit this morning. Lucy gave George a bath, don't think he was a big fan of the hairdryer! He did look super handsome afterwards. 🙂 He had a good first night and this morning he went on the school run. 🙂 Today a visit to his Dad's place of work was planned. :)) Xxx Penny had a trip to the park with Norman. She had a great time and was a very good girl. Xx I managed to go out for a walk this afternoon and had the pleasure of taking Parker. What a super boy he is! Lucy took new photos of some of the dogs, aided by our lovely volunteer Jan. :)) Thank you so much to the people who brought donations of bedding and also stamps for our recycling scheme. 🙂 Xxx

Wishing my Gummy bear Max a very happy 11th birthday. Don't think he knows how old he is as he certainly doesn't act his age! He is such a funny gentle boy who knows his own mind and makes us smile every day with his spinning zoomies in the house (won't do it outside). Love you loads, decision on dinner has not been made yet but I am sure he will update when he decides what they are all having. Xxxx Gummers says stay safe and well everyone and hopefully as lockdown eases a bit more we can all start to meet up and maybe have some walks and outdoor events arranged. X

Ceasar has had an eventful week. He had 3 walks a day together with Barney, now and then with Charlotte (our old lady Grey). Charlotte is really getting old her mind wants to go for walks but her body will say NOOO towards the end of the walk. As the weather was good we did have frequent walks along the canal, always a nice experience for them. He was not impressed with the ducks or the swans but Barney did find them interesting. I have been surprised how strong this little boy is on the lead. Ceasar also met lots of different breeds and is not always sure about them and can lunge. He came along to pick-up our daughter from school, as short walk away from home. Ceasar may be poorly but he will still need to learn the robes about living in a home so he will receive training. Ceasar and Barney are truly crime mates they both get up to mischief and sometimes team up 🙂 a little tag team. They enjoyed visiting the Kennels and the run where they were chasing one an other for toys. Ceasar also got a bath which he was less impressed with and he got a grooming session too. Ceasar is in interesting character, he is really not concerned about the others. So he may lay down and place his head on a sleeping Charlotte, jump on the Sofa where Charlotte is lying or just wriggles in a space between barney and a cupboard which can result in growls or barks. He also insists on morning cuddle, Barney sometimes joins in. He is such a great little boy.

Lisa couldn't careless about the rain today! She had a very short walk this morning and just loved being able to get out for a few minutes. Whoever gets to take her home will be very lucky....whatever the weather she will always be a little ray of sunshine! :)) Xxx

George and his new family had to go home in a monsoon this afternoon! He was such a very good boy in the office and stood patiently, modelling fleeces and raincoats! He looked very smart. :)) He has a lovely new family with two pretty sisters! Thanks so much to them all for their patience as it took a while to sort paperwork etc. Wishing George lots of happiness and fun times. Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Well, what a glorious Bank Holiday Monday! Very wet and very cold! :)) However, lots of "sunshine" at the kennels with beautiful little Trudie reserved and gorgeous George going home. :)) Xxx The sand run was very busy again, it was great to see ex Daybreaks residents Jasper and Hawk. :)) Many thanks to Yvonne and Myra for taking all the residents out for walks this morning. They both got very wet! As it was still raining this afternoon the dogs had extra fuss and grooming. Even they didn't seem too bothered about not going for a walk. Xxx Hoping it will be a little dryer tomorrow! Xxx
