    I’m Homed

It was Hagar's turn at the Vets for his neutering operation today. He was a bit uncomfortable on his return this afternoon - sending him a cuddle and hope he feels better in the morning. It was a day of comings & goings today. Little Miss Flower bounced in through the gate this morning - a sweetheart who is full of life and beans! She is understandably a little bit stressed as she finds herself in a completely new and strange environment, but this didn't stop her enjoying her lunch and dinner - and she was very good out on the afternoon walk, discovering all the new sights & sounds in her new world. Lovely Trudie went home this afternoon, she has a gorgeous fursister to share her life with, and a lovely new name too. Wishing everyone many happy time ahead. Leo's period of fostering has finished and he came back to Daybreaks this morning. He was understandably a bit bewildered at finding himself in the kennels, but is such a fuss pot and really enjoyed his afternoon walk and his supper! I had the pleasure of walking the lovely Phoenix - ooh he is so sweet. A little keen on the lead to start with - he does like to weave a bit and check out absolutely everything around him, and got a little excited when he saw some dogs running off lead in the field, but this is only to be expected as he has only been with us for 3 days and he is only just starting to learn about life outside of racing. We are a bit thin on the ground for residents now, and hopefully will be even thinner after the weekends viewing appointments!! However, this does mean we can welcome some more hounds into Daybreaks over the coming weeks. Well the weekend is here again. Sharron Alexandra is doing her by appointment photoshoot tomorrow so keep fingers crossed for some dry weather. We have viewings booked both days, so please keep those fingers tightly crossed that our foster kids, or our remaining residents, find themselves a new home by Monday morning. I shall of course be raising a glass or two of wine later - I like to think that this helps our boys & girls find their homes - so I feel obliged to carry on doing this for their sakes, lol!!!!! Stay distanced & stay safe one and all - cheers!! Angie xxx

It was Parker"s turn to go off with Ruth for his neutering operation today. He was such a good boy and came back this afternoon with his tail still wagging. :)) Xxx Jake went off to his new home this afternoon. Such a lovely lad. He really doesn't care for being in a kennel, I'm sure he will love being in his new home. Xxx Many thanks to Alan and Declan for going to the warehouse today. 🙂 Another showery day, thanks to all our walkers for coming in and getting wet....again! Xxx

So very heartbroken to hear this, I know how devastating it is to lose your beloved hound, I have lost two to Rainbow Bridge since Christmas. You are in my thoughts and in my prayers. Please take some solace that you gave her the best of lives. Jo x

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

LILAH (HONOUR LASS) 14 May 2011 – 8 April 2021 Our beautiful Lilah has gone to Rainbow Bridge. She was off colour for a couple of days and then, after a visit to our vet, it was confirmed she had liver problems. She declined very quickly after that. Thankfully, we were able to say goodbye to her in the quiet of our home, and she left us gently and peacefully. We are heartbroken. Although a nervous girl, she came on in leaps and bounds over the years. It was so rewarding to see her grow in confidence and trust, coming out of her shell and responding shyly, but well, to people other than those in her family. We regularly visited the local care home, where she was adored by the residents and staff, and enjoyed attention in a calm environment. She loved her walks, but from time to time she would refuse point-blank to go further than the post box at the end of the road and point her nose towards home! Her greetings were like no other. Even if I popped to the shops for ten minutes I would so look forward to her rushing to the hall for kisses on my return. She loved her bed, her food and her ball and was quite a playful character. We had some fun games in the garden and made such lovely memories together. Thank you to Daybreaks for bringing her to us. Our sweet Lilah, you were so very gentle and loving. How we miss you and look forward to seeing you again, together with Grandma and Granddad, at Rainbow Bridge. Mama, Papa, Chloe and Lily. xxxx
