I thought I should ask our residents for their autographs this morning after seeing them on BBC Midlands today yesterday! :)) Xxx Separation Anxiety is not a nice thing for any dog to suffer....it's not their fault and we need to give them lots of time and patience. Great to see Jake reserved this afternoon. :)) Alex was meant to have his neutering operation today but it was cancelled after the Vet's had an emergency to deal with. Alex was already on his way with James. I'm sure he wasn't too concerned about the cancellation and was more than happy to come back for his breakfast! Xxx Thanks to Alan and Declan for going on a trip to the warehouse for us. At last they were able to get bowl stands and Kongs! :)) Thanks so much to Lucy for the new photos of some of the dogs. Xxx We have two new arrivals due in tomorrow, a girl and a boy. Sure they will be lovely! Xxx

Well, what an exciting day, BBC Midlands Today came to film and do a segment on dogs being returned due to separation anxiety, so hair and make up done (that was just Dave, sorry Dave!!) We prepared for their arrival. They were lovely and I managed to stay out of the way as I took Champ for a dressing change at the vets! Watching Midlands Today tonight I still managed to make it onto the program, albeit about 3 seconds of my back and bum (not a pretty sight even on a good day well at least the got my 'good side')!!! Thanks too to Ian who came in with Sam and gave his input and stressed that there is help when you need or want it. We pride ourselves on being able to give help, support, advice and tips to help owners and their greys. Thanks so very much to the Wednesday walkers who spent quite a significant portion walking the dogs whilst being filmed and to Dave and Denise who managed to stay out of the way of the camera man and to Chris for her help this afternoon. Ruth did a fantastic job with her interview, I think we have a couple of greyhound converts in the BBC crew. The rest of the day was a bit of an anti climax so a bit boring after the excitement of this morning!!! So on that note, stay safe and well. Xx

Barney
I’m Homed
Barney has had a couple of eventful days. Most importantly, Ceasar come to us to stay so that meant some adjusting for all. Luckily Barney had met Ceasar on Saturday so he already knew him. This made it all nice and easy. To be honest, I think Ceasar may also have a positive impact on Barneys behaviour. The two together are also playing and running around, really nice to see. They also share the bed upstairs and downstairs. They get on so well together. Barney loves being outside, specially when the sun is out. He simply goes out in the garden and lies down in the grass to sunbath or watch our daughter play. He also likes to run around in the garden or for us two do the play bow. He actually has a strong deep bark. When I need to go out he is usually quickly at the door as he wants to come along, and Ceasar also does this so now I have two dogs who are keen to go for a walk. We had a number of walks on Monday and Tuesday. On Tuesday it was probably the most as we had our normal morning walk and additional walk along the canal and play in the garden together with Ceasar and then a walk to the Garage to pick up my car. He was fine with all these walks and still seemed to want more. With Barney it is a little surprising as he had a broken hock but he is able to do the walks. When he runs a bit to vigerously he may briefly limp but that is soon over. I was really impressed on Tuesday, during our walks we met a miniature poodle and whilst he was very interested he did not lunge at him. He did have a whine and a couple of brief barks. During the evening walk we come across a boston terrier and again he was interested but did not even bark or whine eventhough it was displaying excitable behaviour and not long after that a Charles Cavalier and Barney did not respond to that dog at all. In Fact it was Ceasar who got very excited with both. So this is all really good progress. His being on his own is also progressing well, again Ceasar may be helping here. But we do not have as much whining, howling or barking. This boy is ready for his forever home. He is a gentle soul, loves a cuddle, playfull and naughty. He enjoys the toys we took on Saturday, he does seem to have a preference for balls and fluffy toys. He will enjoy a family who will do activities with him or take him places. I can imagine him loving a nice sized garden (ours is not to big) where he can run around, have a dig or sunbath.

Oh caesar I am so pleased you've been fostered by Erik and his family as although I don't know him, love all his wonderful reports on his foster dogs and how perfect for you. Life can be so cruel but you're clearly in the right hands so who knows, I pray you get many more years xxx

I’m a Sponsor Dog
We have had Ceasar on foster since Sunday. He has settled in really well. We did not do a lot on Sunday so he could settle and acclimatise to our home. Barney, our other foster, and Caesar seem to hit it off and like to play together. On Monday we did a couple of walks and including one with all 3 of them to the vet for Charlotte (our greyhound) I shared a funny photo of them at the vet. https://www.facebook.com/groups/15539565263/permalink/10157802045250264/?notif_id=1619466384186413¬if_t=page_post_reaction&ref=notif. Today, he had a canal walk and a walk to the garage. He found the garage very interesting. We also met several dogs and he is getting used to them. He is such a lovely boy, full of beans, wants to walk all the time and so playfull . Today he came to me and curled up against me just makes your heart melt. Live is not always fair is it?
