You would never know that Lisa has an injury. She bounces around the kennel, really excited to interact with people. She's a lovely young dog Fingers crossed that she'll soon be able to have some proper walks. Xxxxx

Penny came for a very wet walk today. She walked very well on the lead and enjoyed being out of the kennel. She is a super playful young lady. Returned to her kennel one very soggy doggy wanted to play and we had a tug of war with the lead. Hope she doesnt have to wait to long for her forever home. Cuddles for playful Penny x xx

Barney

Barney, is really enjoying his younger greyhound they form a great crime partnership :-)). Barney was in the run for a little bit, he was enjoying the toys in there and having a run with Ceasar and battling over a toy. This was great to see such a playing partnership. I have been pleased with Barney, he is becoming more used to different breeds. He is still responding but it is always excitement not aggression. We got quite close to some small breeds and it takes a bit of time before he starts to whine and bark. Over time he will get used to other breeds and not respond at all. It simply needs desentisisation, the more he sees them the better he will get at it. He is still finding being on his own a challenge. Because I needed to focus a bit on Ceasar last week we did not have much chance to do more work on him being alone but we will pick this up this week. Barney is very good with our daughter (4 years old) this is always supervised. It is not easy for dogs to understand the strange sounds and movements young children make. This is especially for sighthounds as they are hard wired to respond to all the things very young children do. I do feel that Barney is ready for his own forever home. I will continue my work with him but he is ready to settle in a home he can call his own and the longer he stays with us the stronger his attachement becomes to us. You can really see the difference in him. He is much calmer now then when we first had him. Please, for Barneys sake, consider this loving, playful, active, outdoor loving and gentle boy. The right family will get such a great dog.

Daybreaks Diary!

All in all a fantastic day, extremely busy first thing, in fact it was manic for want of a better word! Finally ate at around 6.30 this evening!! Little Chloe had a viewing with a family with two small fluffy dogs, she was greyt with them and consequently found herself reserved, so very pleased for her. Lorna had several pampers and there were lots of sand run bookings. The highlight of the day was another viewing, the gentleman has two greyhounds a boy and a girl and had sadly recently lost a lurcher just two weeks short of her 18th birthday. He wanted a girl and looked at Trudie, Penny and Lisa. He had been told that two males together was not a good idea. However, handsome Samson came out and all three got on really well to the point that his male dog rested his head on Samson who showed no reaction whatsoever. We went and had a chat in the office whilst Alison kept a careful eye on them. Fantastic news, he was reserved and will have a fantastic home. I am so very happy for him, just goes to show you can have an idea of what type of hound you want and end up with quite the opposite! Thanks so much to Dave, Denise and Alison for their help today, all dogs had morning and afternoon walks. As always stay safe and well. X

OMG!!! This is just the best news, we will be opening a bottle of wine later to celebrate (we don't need much of an excuse really, lol!!). Samson it's about time my gorgeous boy. It's uncanny but Michael & I were just having a discussion about bringing you home for a few days to give you a break from kennels and see how you fared in a home environment! We are over the moon. xxxxxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Another busy day.... Beautiful Parker arrived this morning and was reserved this afternoon! 🙂 He has a lovely family waiting to take him home. Xxx We also had viewings for the girls, but not quite right this time. However we have more viewings tomorrow. :)) Our fabulous Alex went off to his new home this afternoon. We will miss him but so happy he has been given the chance of a wonderful home. He jumped up into the car and was ready to start his new life with his super new family. Xxx We had several visitors for food including handsome Stanley and recently homed Yoda! He looked fab. 🙂 Xxx Our morning walkers spotted a little wood mouse near the top of the lane, obviously in distress. when Jess arrived, as she is now a vet nurse we sent her to investigate. Sadly he was quite poorly so Jess took him to the veterinary surgery where she works and he was pts . (: Thanks so much to everyone for their help today. Wishing everyone a very Happy bank holiday...can't believe it's May already! Xxx Xxx

I am so sad that Samson is still in the kennels. He is a lovely gentle boy, walks beautifully on the lead and has been to the park with Liz_Beth and had a glowing report. Please don't be put off by his size, my biggest greyhound curled up into the smallest dog, much smaller than my small girls!! Yes he is a big black dog, but no matter what the colour they should all be given the chance of a loving forever home, it's their personality that counts, not the colour. Please will someone give this boy his forever home. X
