Ritchie has walked beautifully along the canals in Lapworth and Rowington today. I love that when I say 'walkies' to him, he wags his tail. When I used to say that to my greyhound, she'd give me such a withering look. We met a few people on the way round and he received compliments for being so handsome x

Samson had a wander around the kennels this afternoon. 🙂 he did enjoy himself but once he saw his Kong he was more interested in going back to his kennel! :)) Xx

Alex had a wander around the kennels with Sanka this afternoon. He was very happy to be "free" :)) Really funny when it was time to go back in. He ran down to the bottom block and tried out all of the empty beds...a bit like Goldilocks! Finally got back to his own kennel and dived onto his bed! :)) Xxx

Sanka managed to go on both of his walks today. :)). He had a wander around the kennels this afternoon. Had a great time was very responsive to his name and was such a good boy when it was time to go back to his kennel. He walked very nicely by my side and went straight back in. Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

It was a very weird day today, one minute the sun was shining and the next it was snowing! Thanks so much to our great volunteers who ventured out into the wild weather to walk our boys! :)) I met lovely little Jenny today who is currently out on trial with the equally lovely Trudie! They are doing fine together and their Dad adores them both. :)) Many thanks to Alan and Declan for going to the warehouse this morning. We now have a good supply of Burns! :)) Thanks also to the lovely lady who dropped off some bedding for us and to the genetlman who brought in the sardines. :)) Alan brought Duck eggs in with him and we gave one to each of the boys. They loved them! 🙂 Yvonne made up Kongs for everyone tonight, they do look forward to them. :)) They are great to use if you have to leave your dog on their own for a while. Xxx We have three new arrivals later this week....:)) BUT we still have two beautiful boys waiting for their forever homes. Samson and Alex are still waiting patiently for that someone special to come along. 🙂 Xxx

Thanks to Liz for taking Ritchie out on short term foster. This is only for a short while. He sounds as if he is having a fantastic time and no doubt when he comes back to the kennels he will be a lot shorter in the legs than he was due to all the lovely long walks he has had!!! Xx

Ritchie slept well again last night. I think he was worn out from his day. We went for a lovely walk around Sheldon Country Park this morning and he enjoyed exploring again. Once home, he had a nice snooze whilst I did an online Zumba class. He raised his head to look at me rather quizzically a few times, but couldn't be bothered with more than that. He did look a bit bemused at me jumping around. Perhaps he has never been to a Zumba class before 😉 This afternoon we went to Brueton Park to have a walk round with a Weimeraner puppy. He did tell her off a couple of times when she ran at him, but apart from that they spent a very companionable couple of hours together. He's had his tea and is happily curled up on the sofa now xx

Daybreaks Diary!

RIP Sarah 'scarebear' I was gutted to receive Jo's call on Good Friday with the very sad news that her lovely girl had lost her battle. It never gets any easier and with such a short period of time after losing Willow I know she is devastated. When Sarah came to the end of the road and the sun had set for her, she wanted no rites in a gloom filled vetinary room, why cry for a soul set free? Miss her a little, but not too long and not with your head bowed low for hold it high and remember the love you once shared for that will always be. Miss her but let her go for hers is a journey that must be taken alone. It is all a part of a bigger plan, a step on the road home but first she must go to Rainbow Bridge where she will be healed and feel happy and free to play amongst the fields filled with lots of colour and nice smelling flowers, where she will rejoin lost friends who also wait patiently and one day in the years to come her ears will stand up, her nose will twitch and when she sees you have arrived you will be able to all go on the last stage of the journey to eternal peace. Sending love and prayers from all of us at this sad time Seana, Teddy, Fergal & Eoghan xxxx

Belle is still looking for her forever home. Her foster family say she is such a good girl. Walks well and gets on with other dogs. She is no trouble at all. If you are looking for a very pretty young lady to join your family please give us a call and we can arrange a meeting with her. :)) Xxx

It was brilliant to see Jack and Sanka reserved today. 🙂 Jack will have a beautiful Greyhound sister and Sanka an adorable Rottweiler sister. :)) It was a sunny but chilly day, thanks so much to everyone who came in to help. The lads got nice long walks and lots of grooming! Xxx Rosie popped in with Barney, he is doing so well! Xxx Xxx
