Daybreaks Diary!

It's Good Friday - and it was a good Friday at Daybreaks!! My first day back at the kennels for 5 months started off slowly - but then turned into an absolute whirlwind!! The sand run was almost fully booked, all appointments were booked - and it was great to be back amongst the doggies! Ruth had plenty of customers for nail clipping and teeth cleaning & scraping during the day. After the initial dull, cloudy start the sun broke through and it was a really lovely Spring day. Chris & I enjoyed our walks with the residents down the quiet lane, and I finally got to meet the doggies I have admired in photos. Samson and Alex are indeed strong boys who find their walks very exciting! Ritchie walks by your side beautifully, and Sanka did very well today after a reluctant start! Once you get him going he does enjoy sniffing and walking, and a tennis ball is sufficient encouragement if he stops!! Jack is a lovely lad, and walks well. Beautiful Pitch went off to her new home at lunchtime, wishing her lots of happy times ahead. Just as she was leaving, new arrival Jenny came through the gate. Such a gorgeous, calm girl, she was a very good girl whilst I gave her a bath and a check over - but she was hardly dry from her bath when she was reserved and went out on trial with a lovely Greyhound sister. Buddy's new Mum & Dad were scheduled to visit him this afternoon and, after taking him for a walk, decided they couldn't wait any longer and took him home with them today!! He is a stunner and we wish them many happy times ahead. Rosie popped in this afternoon with birthday foster boy Barney - he really is a lovely boy and she says he is very clever and quick to learn. Apparently it's sausages for his tea tonight! The lovely weather meant washing was done and dried on the line, and doggies could have a break from wearing coats again. The best news of all though was that Caesar has found himself a foster home with a lovely family who will care for him for as long as is needed. We thank them so much for this offer. Don't forget the online Easter Pet Show starts tomorrow - get posting your photos! And the Easter raffle will be drawn on Sunday at 2pm - Ruth will be doing a live cast on Facebook, so there's still time to get your tickets! Well that was a bit of an epic post - you can tell I am excited about being back! I am now officially shattered though, so will be enjoying a nice glass of G&T later in celebration of a good day.
