MICROCHIP INFORMATION Following on to the announcement from Petlog that their new system had 'lost some data', we have been totally inundated with enquiries. We wish to assure you this has been rectified. Angie who has agreed to help me out to go through all the microchips and double check their registrations but you can understand this will be a lengthy process so if you have emailed or left a message, we will be in touch shortly. To add to this, the process of MicroDog ID chip registrations is extremely complicated and again, we are working with the Greyhound Board of Great Britain and MicroDog ID to ensure all chips are registered to their owners. Again this is not something that owners can access on line. This is the announcement from Petlog that I received by email: Information for your customers We have asked Petlog customers to create a new online self-serve account, and customers who had not previously set up an online account, to create one. However, you may have some customers, such as those whose details – including their name, email address, or title – have changed since their pets’ details were first placed on the Petlog database, who may find their registered pet details aren’t yet displaying on their updated online account, when they login. We understand this might be concerning some customers but we can give our reassurance that all pets are still safely on our Petlog microchip database and in the event of a pet going missing, reunification won’t be affected. However, because their details may have changed and because Petlog has a duty to protect customers’ security data, we are asking customers who can’t see their pets’ details to fill in the ‘can’t see my pet’ form, within their new online account. Our team will then review the security information and match up the pets to the online self-serve account, so customers can manage their details going forward. Our 24/7 reunification line continues to run as normal and even without a customer creating an online self-serve account, the database is searchable online or through our 24/7 lost and found line across the authorised network, for reunification purposes.

Woody (Sanka)

Sanka behaved perfectly towards all other breeds in Brueton park today He was relaxed on the lead and though planting himself couple of times he resumed walking when ready He travelled well in the car though did have to be lifted in. He was a real pleasure to take out and hopefully the right home for him is now not far away.

Russ
Over the Rainbow Bridge
We have to keep the washing up bowl in the middle of the living room because as soon as you put it back Russ gets it and puts it back again. He goes to his treat draw and tells us that he has been good and it’s treat time. Russ don’t bother with squirrels anymore but he is like a dog possessed when he sees a cat. He is a true pleasure to have and you would think he was human at times. He never forgets anything and knows where all the cats live in the area.

What a lovely Spring day! So nice for our boys and girls to be able to have their coats off. :)) Everyone enjoyed going for walks today. Even Sanka had a stroll around the sand run and walked a short way up the lane with Myra. Xxx Thanks to everyone for your help today. Shirley will be so pleased to hear the bedding has been sorted! :)) We had visits from some old friends today. Luna came for nail trimming, still the sophisticated, pretty young lady who likes to get her own way. Her Mum adores her. :)) We also saw Leo now an older gentleman aged 13 he is a little wobbly but such a good boy having his corns looked at by Ruth. Xxx Looking forward to another warm day tomorrow! 🙂 Xxx

Well it has been just over a week since we brought Nidge home & I’m happy to confirm that he has found his forever home & we will be going into Daybreaks tomorrow to turn his sign Green. He is still ‘work in progress’ but we love him & can’t wait to make it ‘official’! He also has a new name, ‘Dougie’ aka ‘Doug the Dog’ which he is responding to really well. Ruth, Kate & Jane, thank you for introducing us to Doug & entrusting him into our care, he is going to be a very much loved member of our family. On behalf of all the greys & their adoptive families, thank you for everything you do for them & us. You work tirelessly to find them all their special forever home, so just wanted to let you know how much your kindness is appreciated xxx

Locky
I’m Homed
Locky has given us some concern over the weekend. The anti inflametry meds did not do much for Locky, there was little change in the swelling of his paw. His mood was also not the normal happy chappy. His appetite, drinking and weeing had not changed which was somewhat of a comfort. Unfortunately, on Sunday morning there was a change. When I got up in the morning he had a bold spot on his paw. This spot changed to an small open wound and that changed to a bigger open wound. I was quickly intouch with the daybreaks team and as it was developing it was felt to get him to emergency vets in Shirley. Once arrived I explained to the vet the history, what has already been investigated and the conclusions from those investigations. The vet drained fluids from Locky’s paw and then Locky had to recover from the sedation. Locky is suspected to have an infection, although they are not sure. Locky is on antibiotics for 10 days. If it does not work, more x-rays maybe needed, if that is inconclusive blood test. I think it is best to be positive and think this will now resolve his paw. Why this has happened the vet was honest and said he does not know. Locky seems brighter today and more alert so that are good starting signs. Locky will have his castration check-up tomorrow so I will ask them to check the bandage and the paw too. As you can appreciate as Locky has not been well we have not been able to do much around his behavioural improvements and for now we will need to focus on him getting better. I want to say a thank you to the daybreaks team helping to get an emergency vet sorted out quickly. I must admit that it was a bit of a worrying time yesterday.

Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
Wow, what a day. I picked Dave and Maisie Moo up this morning, we arrived at the kennels and Denise had cleaned three kennels already. She and Dave finished the rest, sadly Dave didn't feel 100% and went home, hoping he feels better soon. Liz_Beth came in to do walks, we also had the lovely Ben who's mom adopted Della recently come in and help and as already mentioned Denise. Thanks so much to Liz for taking Ritchie out for a long walk. Lots of sand run bookings, bedding donations and a viewing. It was quite a close call, Samson was first to be seen and then Lauren, she was the chosen one and made a greyt impression on her new dad (he just so happens to know Trudies dad who recommend he came to see us). Raffle tickets are still available, there is the fab doggy hamper and the chocolate hamper too. £1.00 a ticket and the drawer will take place on Easter Sunday. You can pay over the phone if you would like. Thanks to Julie and Adrian who collected a donation from Pets at Home and to Lisa B for collecting it from the kennels. Well I'm back at home and I feel it is now wine and recline time. Take care all.xx
