    I’m Homed

A chilly frosty start this morning, thankfully the sun came out and it was a lovely bright day, it always makes me feel better when it is bright and sunny. Unfortunately Chris was unable to come in today, really hoping she feels better soon. It was just myself and Dave as we thought, we then had a very pleasant and welcome arrival in Nav (who homed Lucy a while ago) who kindly came in to help. Thanks so very much, at least this time we had more dogs for him to help with. Feeding and cleaning done, cats fed, watered and litter trays sorted, just the chickens to feed. With their salad, veg and fruit prepared off I went off to feed them before our morning viewing. I am so very sad to say that when I went into the coup one of the girls had at some point overnight sadly crossed the rainbow bridge :((((( The viewing went well this morning and new boy Bobby found himself reserved. Hawk went home, good luck mate. We had sand run bookings including Nav and Jamie's little girl Lucy, she looks so well and is so very sweet, food collections and a call to make an appointment to come in over the weekend for a viewing. Locky is such a very happy boy, so happy infact he had a case of 'happy tail' (yes, it is a medical term), he had wagged his tail so much and so hard he split the end! He had a dressing put on, we cleaned his kennel walls and the bars in the feeding run! Just before we left he managed to undress his dressing, so I had to do it again. Hopefully this one will stay on!! Again, thanks to Dave and Nav for their help today. We really miss Angie on a Friday (and Saturday morning), hopefully she will be back soon, so on that note I am now going to wine and recline!!! So, stay safe and well one and all. Xx

Oh my, another fast worker!! Think we will need to leave these hounds suitcases by the gate so they can pick them up on their way back out!! Well done Bobby. x

So Ive been working a combination of nights and days as we have a few people off sick at work and Im knackered tbh , I love my job but I always come back home to one thing that's more reliable than , well anything that's reliable really ...Jess.... sure Celia is here too but Celia just does her own thing , she is who she is she's defiantly a fighter loves exploring my rucksack or coat pockets and I love her but Jess, Wow Jess she literally is my second skin , sticks to me like glue and simply won't leave me alone EVER, I get into bed JESS , I go to the toilet JESS , I breathe JESS , I wash my socks JESS , I sneeze/fart/burp/cough ...yeah you guessed it JESS , I must admit I'm overwhelmed by the compliment and I love her so much and to think I originally was only going to get Celia is completely incomprehensible how many other greyhounds are out there who show this much affection , that's a painful thought and upsets me greatly that they might never be given the chance to show it , you've captured my heart and soul Jess I love you so much

It was a very busy day! :)) We had three new arrivals, Alex and Belle were brought in this morning. Richard and Bob collected Bobby for us this afternoon. Thanks so much to Shirley and Louise for bathing them all. :)) Ruth and Alan had a trip to the warehouse and Richard a trip to the tip! (He gets all the glamorous jobs!!) Lucy and Jess were busy taking photos of Belle, Alex and Bobby, taking advantage of the sunshine. :)) In between all the activity we had Ruth's delicious homemade cake! It was Shirley's Birthday yesterday. Xx Xxx

Tony and Skip showed just how special Greyhounds are when they accompanied the funeral procession yesterday. They were walked by members of the family and took their role in the proceedings calmly and reverently. As Ruth said earlier it was an emotional sight. Thinking of the gentleman who has passed way and his family. Xxx

    I’m Homed

Well this cheeky lady has been with us for 6 months now so I thought it was time for an update as time flies so fast. Belle settled down to home life very quickly and has become firm friends with her spaniel brother and two sisters. She is also keeping an eye on old man Paddy and she takes his slowness into account when they are out and about together. Belle loves playing with spaniel Ruby as they both like a run round the garden. Ruby plays hide and seek with Belle, getting her to chase and she then quickly hides in the shrubs. Belle has worked out its best to just wait and Ruby will jump out and the game starts again. Its lovely to watch them. Belle has met many different dogs of all shapes and sizes and she greets them all with good manners and friendliness. Their favourite friend is near neighbour Bernard, a big chocolate Labrador. Bernard won't let his owner walk past without saying hello and Paddy and Belle are equally pleased to see him on our walks. Belle does have some odd eating habits, our old coffee table is now minus its corners and she likes to pinch the foam scouring pads from the kitchen. In fact food of any description is always top priority, she is Ellie the foodie's apprentice. With such lovely innocent eyes she gets away with it too xx
