Where does the time go? It has been two years since I 'fostered' Arry when he came back to Daybreaks. There will be no special dinner today as since Sarah Scare Bear has been poorly every day is a special dinner day!! Maybe some extra special treats later (although that may prove to be difficult as they have those every day too)!! Don't panic Asbo Arry, we will get something nice for you xxx

Well I am approaching my first gotcha and my hooman mum said I have been lucky to reach it with my behaviour I think she is only joking when she threatens to send me back to Ruth although eating her new work parking permit probably wasn’t a good idea, or chewing her tax return, or exploding a cushion in conservatory and taking the bobble off her favourite hat didn’t help either. I know she loves me really as I get treats and cuddles. I can’t wait until she starts gardening and I can ‘help’

Daybreaks Diary!

A busy and cold day today. Thanks for the donations of bedding and we had another Pets at Home donation, thanks to Julie and Adrian for dropping it off. Sadly Bobby was returned, I am sure it won't be long before his forever home comes along, he is still a baby and a very handsome brindle boy. Locky managed to wag his tail dressing off....again! Ruth redressed it and again it started to begin to wag off, he is such a happy boy. Next time I saw him he had had his tail rebandaged and taped to his leg!!! It at least stopped him from being able to wag it in a furious fashion, it seems stoo far to have worked. He is still able to walk properly, it just means his tail is limited in movement, he is really not bothered by this and hopefully this will give his tail time to heal. He really needs a forever or foster home where he has the room to wag his tail without causing himself any damage. Sadly he is not cat friendly. Nidge has gone out to a foster home, a welcome break for him from the kennels. Adele had a viewing this morning and by this afternoon she had 'left the building' and gone home complete with a new name, Della. Good luck to her and her lovely family. Thanks very much to Liz_Beth (who was celebrating a very special birthday) for taking new boy Samson to the park, and for bringing in some very delicious cakes. Happy birthday to you! Xx Ruth and Lisa B had a trip to the tip, Ruth, please remember you are going to drop stuff off, not bring stuff back!!! Really....she came back with a light up Christmas dog decoration, the man at the tip should really not encourage her (not that she needs any encouragement). Thanks as always to Dave and Chris for everything today, you are both fantastic and your hard work is really appreciated. X I am sure I have probably forgotten something, I feel so tired tonight! So, as always, I will finish with hoping you all stay safe and well. X

Samson

Handsome Samson came with me to Elmdon Park today. He is a lovely chap and was very happy to be out. We hadn't been in the park long before we met our first non grey, a mastiff. The mastiff was very friendly and actually ending up jumping all over Samson, who didn't bat an eyelid!! We carried on and met a Spaniel who really wanted to play. I think Samson was very up for it and l might have lost him over the field with the spaniel, if he had not been on the lead. Carrying on further we met quite a few small dogs and Samson barely gave them a second glance, even the one that was barking furiously at him. We also managed to walk past a cat (who admittedly sat stock still) without any reaction from Samson. He enjoyed his walk, but was quite happy to get back, have a drink and flop on his bed. Good luck handsome boy xx

Poor Belle - she is very unhappy in her kennels. She is not eating terribly well and unfortunately has come into season. Therefore I can not take her home as Mr Tony is VERY excited by her! When I had her at home she was really golden, ate well and settled..... if you think you could offer this beautiful girl a home, please call us.

Unfortunately Bobby who was homed on Monday has been returned this morning through no fault of his own. One of the family members has found he is allergic to him and they are upset to return him. His owner told us he is fantastic on the lead, good with other breeds of dogs, but very aloof in the house and not responding much to the family. I am sure that the right home is out there - it is a massive change to these dogs and with time and patience they learn what retirement is all about! He is a very handsome boy but then you can see that from the photos!
