Cora

Cora's Dad Gordon came in today. Cora unfortunately got an infection in her leg last week but thankfully after a course of antibiotics all is looking good again. She is now having a daily trip to the vets for dressing changes. We are so grateful to Gordon for his dedication to her care. He adores her! :))) Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Samson arrived at the kennels this morning. He enjoyed a snack but not so much his bath! He is a happy boy and settled very quickly in his kennel...he was on his back, legs in the air when I walked past later in the afternoon. :)) Thanks so much to Lucy for the great photos of Samson and the updated ones of some of the other residents. They really show what fabulous looking dogs they are. Xxx It was nice of Jess to take Alex out to the park. He was a little lively with other dogs but it was his first trip out. :)) He throughly enjoyed himself and slept for the rest of the afternoon. Xx Poor Locky managed to "wag" the dressing off his tail again when he came out for his dinner. I did my best to put another one on! What he really needs is a home with space to wag his beautiful tail. He is just too happy! :))) Thank you to everyone for your help today, especially our lovely Yvonne. Xx Xxx

Oh Wow , Celiblobs you are just a pro at the gonna getcha gotcha game today was the first time we've ever played it really properly and I never gotcha becuase you always moved your feet quicker than I could get them , first dog ever that's beaten me at the game , now stop eating the toilet roll please ( its regina chamomile ad the best toilet roll in the world and Im gutted that you've shredded one) life is to short to have cheap toilet roll but I can't afford for you to act out being an Andrex puppy , well that's just what's happened

Jess thanks so much for taking Alex on an adventure to the park. It must be so very strange for him to see so much that is so new and so different to everything he has so far been used to. As you say, I am sure with time and training he will realise that the outside world and its occupants are not that scary, and are something he will really enjoy. x

Alex joined me to Elmdon Park this afternoon! Alex decided jumping into car wasn't happening so instead I lifted him in, he also wasn't too sure about getting out either - bless him! Once we arrived at the park he was rather strong on the lead, this was most likely because it was all new and exciting too him as he is quite a good boy on the lead at Daybreaks. We passed three very calm large non greyhounds, in which he showed an interest in but no aggression. However once we saw a few smaller dogs both on and off lead it was clear that Alex would need some help in socialisation. He becomes very strong and there is quite a bit of vocalisation. I'm sure after a few trips he will start to understand that other dogs are all okay. He is such a sweet, happy boy xxx
