Sabby came with me to Elmdon Park today. Such was his enthusiasm to get out and about, it was a struggle to get in his kennel to lead him up without him escaping!!! Once he was ready though we set off. He maintained a good pace for the entire hour and a half and seemed to enjoy all the new sights and smells. He met several small dogs and came nose to nose with a few. He remembered his manners and greeted them politely. He really was a great walking companion. He can be a bit vocal in the kennels - don't let that put you off, he was quiet as a mouse whilst out and about! That said, he was also quiet when I left him in his kennel this afternoon. I think I might have worn him out!! Hoping he won't have to wait too long for his forever home xx

Thank you peeps. Granny cooked me a nice gammon joint & then spoilt it by telling me I had to share!!!! I surprised her by visiting upstairs and as she gave me lots of claps & told me how clever I was I am now going up and down like a yo yo! I am very much enjoying sleeping with her too but not so impressed that I have to share her. I am learning very quickly but it is different to when I lived as an only child. I am wearing my Daddy's coat and in house jumper and that makes me feel cosy. Granny tells me & Fergal every day how proud our Daddy would be of us and how much he loved Teddy. She still misses Daddy very badly but we give her lots of snuggles to cheer her up. I hope everyone is keeping well and that I will see some of you in the Spring. Xxx Eoghan

It was lovely having happy dogs to greet us when we arrived this morning. :)) Nice clean kennels for Yvonne to get to work on. Only one little accident which wasn't a problem. :)) Jennifer was reserved by a lovely family. She will have a little Pug as a friend. Thanks so much to Jess for all her help with their visit. Xxx All the dogs had a nice walk this morning although it was a little chilly! Thanks so much to our resilient walkers! Xxx Xxx

    I’m Homed

Just checking in to wish everyone a better and more positive 2021. It's been a very tough year, so let's hope that we can get through the difficult next few months and start to see some improvement as Spring approaches. The Online Pet Show was a great success, massive thanks to Lynne & Simon for all their hard work - it was a mammoth task indeed! So many fabulous entries it was such a shame that everyone couldn't go away with a prize - but thankyou to everyone who entered in support of Daybreaks, we loved looking at all the photos of precious pets & memories. Things are getting tighter again so I wont be back at the kennels for a while. Michael is in the CEV group, and is patiently waiting for news of his vaccination date. I am really missing my time at Daybreaks, but we must all do our bit to get this dreadful virus under control. Stay safe and well everyone - and lets look forward to a time when we can all get back together once again. There will be much celebrating at that time!!!!! Angie xxxx

  • Daybreaks Diary!

    I’m Homed

I watched the snow falling last night and tried to find the easiest clearest route to the kennels for this morning. After quite a covering of the white stuff I woke up to nothing! All gone!! It was chilly but at least the car wasn't frozen. Our new seven lovely residents were happy to see us. Tommy and Jennifer were not too keen on breakfast so had theirs in their kennels. There were bookings for the sand run, two dogs for nail cutting and a viewing, all socially distanced with appointments an hour apart. If you are interested in viewing any of the dogs please call and let us know who you are interested in, at the moment we are unable to let prospective homers go into the kennel blocks. We are more than happy to bring any dog you are interested in into the sand run for you to meet. We need to keep you, our staff and volunteers safe at this difficult time. We really hope you understand. Tommy found himself reserved by a lovely family, he was so calm and relaxed and loved all the attention, especially from the children. Another viewing tomorrow, so fingers crossed for that. Take care, stay safe and well. X
