Wishing Bill a great new life. He has a lovely family. Xxx It must be so daunting to some of these boys and girls; I'm sure I would feel very scared if I had to move to a new home without really understanding what is going on...sending Bill lots of hugs. Xxx

It’s with great sadness that I have to tell you that our miracle girl Ruby Roo made her final journey this evening. 20 months after her diagnosis and being told we would be lucky to have a good 2 months she proved she was a fighter! She celebrated 2 more birthdays, lots of trips away in her beloved wobble box including 2 holidays in Cornwall. Oh and lots of adventures in Winnie the camper am as well. She ate like a queen for the 20 months, whatever she wanted she got, sadly this week she almost stopped eating so we made the hardest decision ever. Right up to the end she wanted to head outside for her ablutions. She fell asleep lying In Her bed, in the conservatory, snuggled in her jarmies under her special blanky. Sleep tight my little pocket rocket, a piece of my heart has gone with you BUT we will remember all the good times xxxx

Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
Evening all!! Hope everyone is staying safe & well and coping with lockdown. Must confess I am REALLY missing my time at the kennels and the gorgeous houndies - but safety is a priority for me with Michael in the CEV group. On the plus side - he has had his first vaccination so is on his way!! Shielding is being looked at on 21st February, so lets hope for some positive news then so we can start to get out & about again. In the meantime we have been following all the comings and goings at Daybreaks, and there are some gorgeous fellas currently in residence. Was so lovely to read the post from Kenny's owner - I remember this gorgeous boy well and am delighted that he has made such a difference to his Mum's life during such a difficult time. Hope you are all perusing your photos again in readiness for the Easter Online Pet Show - the way time is flying past at the moment it will be here before you know it!! I am really, really hoping that the planned Hounds Easter Parade that had to be cancelled last year may be able to go ahead in 2022 - but in the meantime why not use the Easter Bonnet group in the show as a dry run for next year???! I am raising my glass, as is my tradition on a Friday, to Ruth, Kate, Jo and all the Daybreaks team who are working tirelessly every day to look after the boys & girls and get them prepared for their forever homes (am hoping to be back with you soon) and to all the gorgeous hounds who find themselves at the kennels - may forever sofas be yours. Cheers! Angie xxx

My gorgeous Bill has gone off to his new home today. I was quite tearful seeing him go but I know he has got a wonderful home and the Price household has got a space for the next one who needs a bit of extra TLC. However, this will be tomorrow as its 'my day off' and I am now heading back home to catch up on housework! Take care Bill xxx

Thank you for all your lovely comments about my girl. I have felt so supported by all her friends, near and far, during these last few difficult days. In time another greyhound will join my family - and I can see all those I have loved and lost - Ace, Frank, George, Bouncer and Daisydog nodding their agreement from the bridge. Xxxx

So lovely to hear this lovely story about Kenny and his mum. We so wanted Kenny but he had been reserved then when he was returned we had already chosen another dog ( who looks just like Kenny incidentally), but we were so happy that he went to such a lovely home, and it sounds like he has been a great comfort to his new mum. Glad you are happy and loved Kenny, what a special boy you are xxxxxx

I have just had the most wonderful telephone call from Kenny's owner. Just before the first lockdown, she moved to Chester to be closer to family following the loss of her husband. Due to lockdown she sadly has been unable to see her family and this is where she told me that Kenny has been her lifeline in getting out and meeting new people. She made a very generous donation to Daybreaks and I asked if she would mind if I shared what she had told me because it was so lovely to hear that Kenny had helped her, just as she had helped him. It really is truly remarkable what having a dog can do for you - they are great company and a great way to keep exercising and meeting people and with no doubt, a lifeline for many. x

Dear Jo, I'm so very sad to hear your beloved Daisydog has gone to Rainbow Bridge. She was a beautiful girl. She had a wonderful happy life with you and I know how much you both loved living by the sea. Xxx I'm sure she is creating quite a stir with the other girls at the bridge and giving them fashion tips. :)) Lots of love Kate, Skip, Fletcher and Lyra. God Bless you Daisydog. Xxx
