A busy day which saw Zac and Laddie fostered and Ronnie homed. :)) Trooper and Laddie had some fun time wandering around the kennels....Trooper loved greeting visitors! Zac went off to his foster home first followed by Ronnie being homed and then Laddie also going out to foster. Xxx Trooper will hopefully be going out to his new home on Tuesday. 🙂 Xxx We had another Christmas tree donated recently, so we put it up! ...It's decorated with dog treats and toys. All of which are available for a donation. :)) The sand run was very busy today, the last family to use it left in the dark! 🙂 A much drier day today... :)) Xxx

Laddie

Laddie went out on foster this afternoon! :)) He had spent most of the day wandering around the kennels. His favourite place is outside the door to the cat room! 🙂 Xxx Do hope he enjoys his stay with his lovely foster family. Xxx

Ronnie found his forever home today. He has a very pretty Greyhound to look after him. Xxx Wishing him lots of happy times with his new family. Xxx We are so grateful to his lovely foster family for looking after him during the last lock down. They were very sad to say Goodbye to him. Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Another stinky wet day but not as cold as the other stinky wet days!!! The day was brightened up with nervous timid Molly going out on foster/trial with Ruby and Goldie. I had a call this evening to say she seemed really settled, fingers crossed things will go well and she may have her forever home. This left the three boys in the kennels, Trooper is hopefully going home on Tuesday after his neuter on Monday. Zac has the offer of foster over Christmas and may go tomorrow. This leaves handsome Laddie at the kennels, he has definitely become more settled since his arrival. Ronnie has a viewing tomorrow so fingers crossed for him. I would like to echo Angies comments and thank everyone for their help and support during this difficult time. Thanks too to Dave and Chris for their help today and to everyone who came in with bedding and other donations and all the sand run users. As always, stay safe and well all. Jo x

Daybreaks Diary!

With Christmas Day only a week away, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the very best Christmas you can have under the circumstances. It's been such a difficult year for us all, but Daybreaks has continued with its amazing work despite all the restrictions and difficulties - welcoming our 100th new resident since independence this week in the handsome Zac, what an achievement. I am really missing my time at the kennels, and Michael is also so sad that he cant do his Saturdays any more, but with him being in the CEV group we just cant take any chances. Let's hope that 2021 will bring better times for everyone, and Daybreaks will be able to open its doors again and welcome everyone back. In the meantime, thankyou everyone for your continuing support during these unprecedented times - stay safe, well and positive - we will get there. Angie xxxxx

Trooper had a great time this morning. He wasn't keen on going back into his kennel after breakfast, so we let him wander around and investigate the kennels. He loved it! He was trying to get Skip to play with him but Skip wasn't interested. :)) He is going to love being in his forever home. :)) Xxx

Molly is a little unsure of her new surroundings at the moment. This morning she didn't want to go for a walk but preferred to cuddle up to the very large Teddy she has in her kennel. 🙂 She is a very sweet and lovely girl, I'm sure her confidence will grow with lots of love and understanding. Xxx

Daisydog and I read the news about Dexter with sadness - so many hounds making their way to the bridge - we send gentle hugs to all who loved him - the sky shines that little bit brighter with a new star - run free Dexter. Xx

Thank you for all your kind words, they are a real comfort to us at this difficult time, we so miss or boy but we knew we had to let him go. Dexter or Doodles as we liked to call him was such a character, stubborn, feisty, funny, gentle and sometimes a bit of an old grump, especially in the morning. He was at is happiest being grumpy bless him, our lives are so much richer for having loved him. Rest easy sweetheart xxxxx
