I went to visit Daybreaks friends, Phil, Sylvia and their two beautiful Greyhounds Rio and Ella this morning. The reason for my visit was to collect donations for the kennels and home cooked meals for our Daybreaks boys and girls. :)) Phil had been up since around 4am busy cooking Full English Breakfasts, Fish and Chips, Spaghetti Bolognese and Christmas Dinners...10 of each, all packed up in individual boxes. :)) Xx They look great and I know they taste great as Rio and Ella have been chief tasters! :)) Included in 20 boxes of donations were several hundred tins of Sardines, jars of hot dogs sausages, tinned meat, Bonios and treats! Also included were lots of cleaning products and treats for volunteers too. Xx We are so grateful to Phil, Sylvia and to Phil's friends and work colleagues who sponsored him to do his mammoth cooking challenge! Xxx Hope he had a well earned rest this afternoon. Xx I took everything to the kennels, breakfasts are in the fridge ready for tomorrow morning. :)) The other meals in the freezer. Thanks to all at the kennels today for helping to unpack the boxes. 🙂 Xxx Thank you so much to everyone for all your help in so many different ways that keep Daybreaks Kennels open. Xxx xxx

Good morning Penny, yesterday I brought a big comfy bed for you and I’m currently looking at pink onesie PJ’s ???? We can’t wait for you to come and live with us. Todays job is to Penny proof the garden.

Grace (Chick)

I took Chick to Elmdon Park today and she was a pleasure to walk. She was ecstatic to see her lead and was excited to be leaded up, but walked calmly as soon as we were out of the kennels. She walked at a lovely pace at my side and enjoyed taking in the new smells. She met several dogs at the park and wasn't bothered by them at all. She met them politely without much interest. She has the softest fur and beautiful markings. I'm sure she'll make a great pet xx

Daybreaks Diary!

It's been another busy week at the kennels. Sadly no Reservations for any of our lovely girls and boys but hopefully they will all soon find their forever homes. Xxx We are very grateful to Phil, Rio and Ella's Dad and his work colleagues for organising the BIG delivery of goodies we received today for the dogs and volunteers. Food for making casseroles, hotdogs for treats, Bonios, Dental sticks, tinned meat, cocktails sausages and a tub of Celebrations to name but a few!! Thank you all so very much. :))) Xxx We also had several visitors to drop off bedding and towels. Thank you. Xxx Josh had a lovely afternoon out with Seana and Fergal. He is such a sweet boy. He is so happy to go out for a walk and he is very partial to an Oatey crunch biscuit at bedtime. 🙂 Xxx Thanks so much to everyone who helped out with walks today, it was a little chilly....Xx We had a delivery of new cosy Fleeces. Beautiful foxy and galaxy designs. So if your looking for a Christmas present for your beloved four legged friend why not treat them to one! :)) We also have tickets available now for our Christmas Raffle. Hi everyone it’s been a while! The year goes too quickly…. So here’s an update for you all! Back in September the hoomans decided to leave me and go on a ship. HOW RUDE. Why couldn’t I come? Don’t get me wrong I loved my little trip away with my greyhound friends but I was abandoned. I did not appreciate it. I’ve since forgiven them though. They did buy me a new toy on their adventures so I can’t be too mad. These fireworks are horrible thank goodness the hooman got me some calming tablets from work. Holly the vet is greyt! As always I’m bossing the humans around. They have been late with my dinner recently and I’m not impressed. Monty xx

May is a real character! She loves playing with toys, loves her food and she loves barking at my Skip! It's his own fault as he runs from the office to the kitchen which May finds very exciting! I don't know what she does with her fleece overnight...when I check the cameras, she looks very quiet and peaceful, but by the morning, she is either wearing her fleece as a skirt or the back is round the front! :)) I am sure whoever is lucky enough to take her home will find her a constant source of amusement! :)) Xxx

Having arrived at Daybreaks last Tuesday Penny today enjoyed her first visit to Elmdon Park. She behaved in a lovely way throughout our walk. She met other breeds in a calm manner without any reaction and was friendly towards everyone she met. A really attractive girl who will be a wonderful addition to any home

Over the Rainbow Bridge
Very sadly Polly went to Rainbow Bridge last week. She had a fabulous, long and happy life with her lovely family. She was originally homed with a Jack Russell, five cats and a Parrot! Xxx Sending lots of love to Mandy, Pete and their two Greyhound girls, Sally and Carla. They are all heartbroken to have lost their very special Polly. Hoping your many happy memories of her will comfort you at this sad time. Kate, Skip, Lyra and Cracker. Xxx

Our pocket rocket boy Sammy passed his Good Dog Citizen Bronze award yesterday along with fellow Daybreaks girl Bess. I don't think the kisses and waggy tail he gave the examiner had any influence on the result, he just greets everyone and everything the same way xx
