    I’m Homed

Where to start today? A monumental day, Firstly, little Lucy had a viewing, she was so very well behaved, so much so a 2nd viewing is booked for tomorrow, but (there's always a but) I had a call and the family decided to reserve her, if all goes well tomorrow she will be going home! It was so very warm, so the dog's had a gentle stroll around the shaded area of the sand run this morning. This afternoon they were cooled down with a fine spray of water or for the nervous one's a lovely groom...Linford got both!!! Thanks so very much for the donations of bedding and lovely raffle prizes. I'm sure I have forgotten something, not used to doing a Friday diary, that is usually Angies baby, but for some reason she wasn't in today.....oh now I remember It was Ruth and Andy's wedding day, I knew there was something else!!! We managed to see Ruth off this afternoon, she looked absolutely stunning (even if acting a little nuts, must have been the wine gums)! Lisa B her maid of honour looked beautiful too. Bob who gave her away was equally dapper in his suit. The vintage Rolls Royce was amazing. Kate and Denise scrubbed up well too! Wishing the beautiful couple a long and happy marriage, not only from me but I'm sure all who dedicate their time to the kennels do too. Congratulations, you deserve this happiness. Xxx There are video posts on Daybreaks chat group Facebook page if you would like to see. I'm sure they will be on Daybreaks Ruth page too.0 Oh, we also have some new arrivals coming in next week (must thought I ought to mention it) :)) Ok, to finish off like Angie, I am going to raise a bottle or two... oops sorry glass of wine to toast not only another greyt day at the kennels, but especially to Mr and Mrs Price. Xxxx

TJ, I have to say I'm not very good at these comments, I break down when I have a call at the kennels, so very emotional. You gave Rosie the very best life, she will shine bright and pain free. I know your pain as I lost my beloved handsome gorgeous boy Stevie just over 3 years ago to the same terrible disease. My thoughts, love and condolences are with you. Rosie, run fast, run free of pain beautiful angel. Heartfelt thoughts to your family. Xxx

Lovely Sam is back at the kennels after spending a few days with Rosie and her family. He is such a great lad and in the right home he will flourish. He would probably be happier in a home with another dog to keep him company...he does like the girls! Xxx

Very happy to call Barney ours ! He has settled in so well, behaving himself and is loving the cuddles. Still being typical Barney finding him upside down on his bed with his legs in the air. Thank you Day Breaks ! Xx

  • Flash

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

I agree 100%with Alan that Flash will be far happier in a home where there are other dogs. She was very nervous when exposed to A45 traffic this morning but gained reassurance when we walked her in the middle of the group. She enjoyed the walk in the fields down the lane and the attention of Linford who had definitely taken a strong liking to her. A nervous girl who hopefully will become more confident in a dog loving home

  • Rosie

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

RIP Rosie 24th June 2008 - 3rd August 2020....... Our cheeky, intelligent, fearless, fast, greedy!, loving, loyal, inquisitive, fabulous big fursis (to Brae), beautiful black beauty Rosie, gained her wings on Monday afternoon. She'd limped several times over the past 2 months when getting up from a lying position and didn't like me washing her right front paw after a walk. Aged 12, we suspected arthritis had caught up with our baby so gave her daily massages and added YuMove to her after dinner yoghurt each day. Never thinking for one moment what was really 'going on'. Having eaten lunch on Monday, she took herself into the garden for a wee but didn't make it back in; her leg broke on the patio, the screaming was horrendous and will haunt me for a long time. We managed somehow to carry Rosie to the car, she was propped up leaning on her Dad and we drove the two minutes (which felt much longer) journey to the vet. "Legs don't just break" he told us, "you need to prepare yourselves"... 30 minutes later, an emergency x-ray revealed our beauty had bone cancer in her leg. With hearts feeling like they'd been ripped out and tossed to one side, we were given 'options' (none of them to keep our baby forever) and knew that in our darkest moment we had to make the kindest choice for Rosie. Due to Covid we couldn't enter the vet surgery however, he did carry our baby back out to us into the doorway of the waiting room where we were able to hold her and share everlasting cuddles, kisses, hugs and messages of a 'safe onward journey beautiful girl'. When we signed the adoption paperwork 6.5 years ago, I didn't read the small print saying that Rosie was 'only on loan'. It wouldn't have made any difference as those years have been the most wonderful, emotional, eventful, happy, sad and most importantly loving years we could have asked for. Until we meet again over that Rainbow Bridge, stay safe, run pain free, be the brightest star in the sky, pinch treats and carry on being cheeky Rosie. With everlasting love, Mom, Dad & Brae xxx
