It is with a very heavy heart that I have to say Jed gained his wings this afternoon. He was one of the most gentle dogs I have ever had the privilege to have in my life and he has left an enormous hole. Thank you Jed for opening up the world of greys to me run free fella until we meet again.

Daybreaks Diary!

What a glorious day it was today - the sun shone all day and it was so nice not to be cold & wet! It was almost like Spring this afternoon with the birds singing away in the trees, and buds appearing on the hedges and bushes. Our boys & girls enjoyed 2 walks in the lovely weather. Jo was on Vet run duty again today as Queenie went off to be neutered. Poor Mr Ed had an unscheduled trip to the Vet yesterday as he had a swelling come up on his jaw. He is now on pain relief and antibiotics for an infection, but he isn't letting this get him down. He enjoyed his extra mushy soft food and we had a lovely stroll round the sand run this afternoon as, due to the swelling, he can't wear a muzzle so can't go off site at the moment. x It was Mr Dasher's 3rd birthday today, so we threw him a little party - well, he had a silly hat, a card and some treats in the feeding run so not much of a party but he did have fun! Our 2 latest arrivals Nell & Kelly are settling well and are 2 very sweet girls. The sand run was in almost constant use today - some of our visitors were here for Crufts and taking the opportunity to give their dogs some great off lead exercise in a safe and secure environment. For the first time in what seems like forever, all the slabs around the kennels were actually dry - which meant Dave could give the place a lovely sweep through, it looked so nice when he had finished. I am now getting itchy fingers to get started on the post Winter spruce up, but it may still be a bit too soon! Well the weekend is here again, and its a busy one too. We have our Mell Square Roadshow tomorrow, and also a certain Miss Tiggy is making a guest appearance at Crufts on the Burns stand, so pop along and say Hello. As for our boys & girls in kennels - my toast tonight is for some red or green signs to appear for them, some have been waiting patiently for a long time to find their very own sofas - so lets hope this weekend is the one.x Whatever you're doing this weekend - enjoy. Happy Gotcha Day Arry. We won't be seeing you tomorrow with Maisie Moo as it's Simon's week to work afternoons. Have a very special day and see you soon. You can tell Skip and Sam what your special meal is. It's Sam's birthday later this month so he'll be wanting ideas. He's rather partial to chips after he first tried them last week. x
