A great turnout of volunteers again today, all very enthusiastic to go walking. Thanks to Ruby Rebels dad Nick for taking Dasher to the park. He was very well behaved and walked really well with Ruby. We started to try and give the sand run a bit of a rake over in between visitors to use it, thanks for helping with that. Myra came in with her daughter who very sadly recently lost her beautiful Charlie to Rainbow bridge. They stayed and helped with walks and spent time giving the residents lots of cuddles. I think there were a couple of firm favourites there. I think watch this space may be in order. Thanks too for the donations of bedding and to Tina who dropped off lots of catering items for use in upcoming events. Wishing Izzy, Alisons dog a speedy recovery after she had an injury running into the sand run. She has been checked by a vet and thankfully has not caused any serious damage to herself. X The highlight of the day has to be the reservation of gorgeous Paddy. The lovely family fell in love with him and he with them. I'm sure he knew as at feeding time he was very excited and pouncing around waiting to be fed! I would also like to thank them for their very generous donation that they made for our roofing fund, I thought I had heard wrong, but I hadn't. Thank you so very, very much, so kind of you. X We left tonight with the dogs all curled up warm and comfy on their beds. Xx

We had lots of help today 🙂 Everyone got their walks including Paddy who is able to go on short walks again after his recent operation. He was so happy to be able to join the rest of the gang for a stroll along the lane. :))) Daisy got something in her paw this afternoon. I managed to get a small piece of grit from it but there is something else in there . We bathed it and are hoping it may work its way out. If not she has her Neutering op on Tuesday so we can ask the vet if they will look at for us. :(( Many thanks to everyone who popped in with bedding. :)) Thanks so much to everyone for all your help today. :)) Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
It was a quiet day today, and thankfully it stayed dry all day so the boys & girls could have morning and afternoon walks without getting soaked! On arrival in the mornings we let the dogs out into the feeding runs to toilet before we start on the cleaning and feeding regime. This morning young Mr Dasher decided he was going to have the devil in him! He came out into the run with no problem, but wouldn't come to me when it was time to go back in. He play bowed, kept running around the run and then sat down in the corner - leaned over and slowly lay down on the floor with his legs open and up in the air!!! We had to have several tummy rubs, then he got up and happily trotted back into his kennel! He is such a character and such a gentle soul for a big boy - bless him. This morning saw the arrival of Daybreaks latest big fella - the lovely Stan. He was a very good boy in the bath, standing nicely to be washed after the initial shock of the shower making him wet had passed! When we had finished he jumped out of the bath nicely then proceeded to give himself a huge long shake - covering Chris & I in water - oh well, it made a change from getting wet from the rain! We had a lovely phone call from Ringo's new owners - he has found the sofa, had a great first night and is doing really well. x I actually got to go out on a walk this afternoon, and took my sweet little Lou. Several times today we caught her lying on her bed on her back with her legs in the air - but every time we got the camera out, she jumped up to come and have a look at it!! She is such a beautiful little girl who walks nicely on her lead - fingers crossed she finds herself a new sofa very soon. x Many thanks for everyone's help today, much appreciated. Cant believe it but the weekend is here again. Don't forget that tickets for the Mothers Day Prosecco lunch on 21st March are available either from the kennels or via the online shop - scarily it is only 4 weeks away now, the year is flying by. I will raise my glass of wine this evening to all our boys & girls, may this weekend be the one that finds their forever homes. Cheers one and all. Angie xx
