Carly is doing brilliantly 🙂 She had a bit of a scary first night out of kennels on the day of Storm Ciara; but had a lovely second night and is very settled already. Had a few nice short gentle walks while recovering from her spay, eating well, and having lots of cuddles and fuss. Thanks everyone for looking after her so well at Daybreaks xx

Hey auntie Kate. I promise I’ll try to make friends with the fish but they are teeny teeny tiny. I know mom keeps trying to get a TC to agree to a friend for me, I’m such a good girl and I try to show him how good it could be. Mom is doing well, she’s healing well and the operation doesn’t hurt at all but she is in a lot of pain with her fibromyalgia as the funny boot they make her wear is putting lots of strain on her muscles. Lubs to you. Xxxx

I got soooo excited today! I heard mom say to TC “look there’s a baby”. At last the puppy I’ve been looking for - yeah. “Where?” Asks TC. “In the fish tank, there’s 2”. Say what? What are they doing in the fish tank? “I’ll get the fry net” says mom. Oh good chips! Will I have to share with the puppies? Turns out they are fish, fish I tell you, what good is that to me? So we took Trebles home for the day to see Amber. We had no idea whether she would even let him in the house, so it was a meeting that could have gone either way....(and she has rejected all of the other dogs she's met) Very pleased to say that it was extremely positive - she didn't growl at all, but was very happy to sniff and follow him about. She even let him sniff her, which is absolutely unheard of! We all got soaked this afternoon on a bonding walk (he doesn't mind the rain). He is a super boy (and he has ears like K9 in Doctor Who). We are very excited. Fingers crossed!

Daybreaks Diary!

Trebled has been reserved, yay. This really brightened up what can only be described as a foul, awful, dreadful, wet, windy...Well ok you get the picture. Many thanks to all the brave souls who braved the elements to come in, I really appreciate it. It was so bad that all walks today were cancelled for everybody's safety. Instead all our residents enjoyed playing with toys in the outside runs, some took to it better than others. They all had extra cuddles in their kennels, not sure who enjoyed that more, the volunteers or the hounds! They each then paid a visit to the treatment room where they all had a lovely groom and more fuss. When we left they were all curled up and warm oblivious to the conditions outside. Thankfully the forecast for tomorrow is much better so hopefully they will get to have walks. Once again, thanks to everyone for their help today. X

Kylie went home today :)) She has a new name Carly! She went home with a lovely new wardrobe, mostly pink! 🙂 The weather today was really quite spring like and the dogs all enjoyed their walks. All change tonight...I can hear the wind and rain outside! Only Bobby has volunteered to go for a wee wee so far! 🙂 just to reiterate what Lewisfuggie has said make sure all your fences are secure, you know what Greyhounds are like they are very good at finding a gap or a hole to squeeze through and go exploring! Ruth popped in this afternoon, Lucy and Jess had the pleasure of giving a pamper to Momma and Tiggy! :)) Thanks so much to everyone for their help today. Xx Xxx

Now mom has her new set of wheels she has come for my morning walk a couple of times. TC takes me but I refuse to go far cos I know moms not with me and she should be. It’s fine in the evening cos TC and I nearly always go on our own. We went to the coastal path and mom was real fast, much much faster than when she walks! She was whizzing along and I loved jogging beside her - so much fun! I can’t wait for the next time! Lubs to all Florence xxx

PLEASE CHECK FENCES BEFORE LETTING DOGS OUT Good afternoon all, as you may already know, we have severe gail force winds expected over the weekend, esp tomorrow, please check you fences before letting your dogs out....
