Just checked the cameras and Stan looks very settled after his neutering operation today. Xx He was very wobbly when we came out of the vets and by the way he was walking you would think he had just left the pub! 🙂 Bless him. Xx He was a big hit with the staff at the vets and had lots of attention during his stay! Xxx The lucky lad will be going off to his new home very soon. Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Another trip to the vets this morning, this time it was Stan's turn for his neutering operation. He was such a good boy traveling in the car and was so patient while we were waiting to be seen. He loves a cuddle! :)) Thankfully Beano and Queenies kennel was nice and clean this morning. They were both very happy little girls today. :)) It was quite a pleasant day and we had lots of help for walks. Xxx Thanks so much to Norman for taking Lou to the park. It was good for her to have a break from the kennels. She really enjoyed herself. 🙂 She is absolutely no trouble at all and such a sweet girl. Xx Thanks so much to everyone for all your help today. Xxx

Huge thanks to Norman for taking my beautiful Lou on a lovely outing this morning. I wholeheartedly agree with his comments - she is a little sweetheart who likes nothing better than to snooze with her legs in the air, but then also enjoys a mad five minutes of zoomies & playing toys - prior to more snoozing upside down of course!! Really hope the right home comes along for her very soon, but in the meantime she gets my extra big cuddle tonight. xx

Sadly Lou was returned to Daybreaks one month ago as she was not suited to living in a home with small children. On her first visit since to Brueton park she proved conclusively what a lovely temperament she has. She met close up dogs of all sizes with no problems whatever. She jumped into the car without assistance and travelled well. She also behaved well on the lead although like lots of greyhounds squirrels caught her attention!!! A very sweet affectionate girl she is certainly ready for her new home and one with a relatively quiet lifestyle would probably suit her best.

Queenie should have gone for her neutering operation today but sadly when we arrived this morning the kennel she shares with Beano was not a pleasant sight....one of them had obviously had an upset tum overnight. 🙁 As we couldn't be sure which one of them it was, I took lady instead. It was one of those days when things don't go as you think and on the way to the vets Lady decided she needed to leave me a present! Fortunately is was a lot firmer than what I had left behind in Queenie and Beano's kennel. :)) Did a quick clean up outside the vets and drove back with the window open! :)) xx I am so greatful to lovely Yvonne, Vanessa and Zoe who carried out all the cleaning and feeding this morning. Xxx Despite being a little chilly the sun came out again today and we were able to take the dogs for morning and afternoon walks. 🙂 I collected lady later this afternoon, she was a little sleepy. Bless her...she is a cute little girl, do hope she won't have to wait too much longer for her very own special home. Xxx Thanks everyone for your help today. :)) Xxx

Donny (Dice)

Handsome Dice came with me to Sheldon Country Park today. I had been told that he can be reactive to cars but I didn't think that would be a problem in the park! I didn't anticipate the remote control cars that children play with; he doesn't like these either!! He wanted to be at the front for the entire walk and he was, on occasion, quite strong on the lead. He was also quite interested in other dogs for the first half of the walk. He did settle down in the second half and eased up on the lead and walked past other breeds with no problems. I think he may need a few more trips to the park. He is a lovely lad though and someone will have a lot of fun showing him what the world post racing is like x

Handsome Dasher came with me to Sheldon Country Park today. He jumped in the car happily and made sure he got to see everything by doing several 360s before he decided on his travelling position. Once at the park, he walked calmly taking it all in. I think several people in the walk fell in love with him and I can hardly blame them. He will make a lovely pet. Hoping he gets his forever home very soon x

Well, it would appear little boy Flloyd is on the Pet Blood Bank Facebook homepage. He gave his 10th donation this week, meaning he has potentially saved up to 40 dogs lives...not bad. If you would like to see his stunning photo sporting a red Pet Blood Bank bandana he is on their post of 25 Feb! Daybreaks Diary!

It almost stayed dry all day, what a difference. I think we managed to put up with the odd hail shower. Thanks to those who took a kennel dog on the Sheldon Country Park walk. Lou, Dasher and Dice had a nice break from the kennels. We had two lovely new arrivals, Nell and Kelly, both very sweet. The didn't mind having a bath at all. Thanks to Bob and Gloria for fetching them for us. Stan the man had a visit from his new family. He really loved their son (I think the feeling was mutual). He went out for a walk with them on the afternoon walk and stayed very close to the son. He is a gentle and affectionate boy and the whole family received lots of kisses! Hopefully he will be going home on Saturday. It was so lovely to see little Daisy go home today. Off she went with a new wardrobe. She is still reluctant to walk very far, well actually a couple of steps and she's had enough! Her owner sent a photo of her later showing her looking completely at home and lying in front of the fire. Wishing her well. X Many thanks to everyone for their help today, as always very much appreciated. Here's hoping for more red signs this week. Xx

We actually saw some blue sky and sunshine today,It does exist after all. :)) xx We had plenty of willing volunteers to go out for walks this morning and this afternoon. :)) All of our residents enjoyed going out without getting wet! Although we had the odd hail shower!! Paddy's family came to visit him today, he loved all the extra attention.:) New lad Dice is settling well and several times when we walked past his kennel today, he was fast asleep on his back legs in the air! :)) Thank you so much to everyone who has visited the kennels this week with bedding, food and treats. So very kind of you. Ruth popped in to see us this afternoon. She is gradually starting to feel better. :))) We have two new girls due to arrive at the kennels tomorrow! Xxx Thanks for everyone's help today. Xxx
