Very sadly Ringo has been returned today. He is a big lad and was getting too excited with one of the family's children. Their son is now getting quite wary of Ringo and they feel it is best for him to come back. They say he is a very happy lad who walks well on the lead and gets on with other dogs. The think he would be better suited in a home with older children or no children. They are very sad it hasn't worked out for them all and hope he wont have to wait too long for the right home. Xxx

I am sad for the lovely Harry that he is no longer reserved - although it does mean I can have plenty more soft, snuggly Harry sized cuddles!! Michael was able to join me at the kennels this morning for the first time in ages - and he instantly fell under this gorgeous boys spell! Harry was bright & happy after his neutering op yesterday and I am hoping he will catch somebody's eye again soon. xxx

So mom got TC good and proper today. The doorbell rang pretty early, it was the postman with a parcel. TC left it by the front door, she told him to please get it as it had got to come to the bedroom anyway. He did and she said ‘it’s a new dressing gown for you, I don’t like that one anymore, you’ve had it 20 years and it doesn’t match the bedroom. You know I can’t stand uneven numbers or things that don’t match, that’s why I need another greyhound so we have an even number. TC says, there’s nothing wrong with this dressing gown, why spend money for no reason. Mom tells him to take it off as she undoes the parcel, he does, she pulls out a garment which is red with a white furry border. He face is a picture, mom cracks, it’s for Florence she says, a new coat for Christmas next year! It was ace and I look soooo cute in my new coat! I checked the bag for the puppy as well but it’s not there. I don’t think there is one. I’m so sad.... lubs to all Florence xxx

Well Lotties chest X-ray is clear thank goodness she had two teeth removed the vet is astonished at how good her teeth are nearly still has a full set. Lottie does have an auto immune dry eye condition which will mean drops for the rest of her life but we can cope with that.

Daybreaks Diary!

Jo was off early on the Vet run this morning taking my gorgeous Harry off to be neutered. Unfortunately this afternoon brought the news that he is no longer reserved - bad luck big boy, but you are such a lovely soul that your turn will come again very soon I'm sure. xx It was a relatively quiet day, so the students could get on with the teeth cleaning and weighings - and our boys & girls enjoyed both morning and afternoon walks. Little Daisy is still so very afraid of the outside world bless her - she wouldn't go for a walk this morning, so this afternoon she joined Paddy for a gentle stroll around the sand run. She seemed more at ease in the peace and quiet of the run, but after one circuit she headed for the gate!! Such a lovely little girl, we hope that time and patience will build her confidence and let her start enjoying life. x This afternoon saw the lovely Bindi go off to her new home - wishing her and her new family many happy times ahead. Many thanks for everyone's help today - we managed to stay mostly dry! Another weekend is upon us, and we have some viewings booked so keep your fingers crossed. I am raising my glass of wine as usual to the beautiful Greyhounds in our care - may forever sofas be just around the corner. xx Cheers, Angie x
