A new name for Princess , Jesamine princess , just becuase I like the song Jesamine ,by the casuals , she came last in the how to get upstairs race and her name means A gift from God ,(same as Jasmine) all three seem settled thanks again Kate x

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Well, we have all sprouted webbed feet and flippers after today's relentless rain!! The poor residents couldn't get out for any exercise at all - and had to make do with special pre-Christmas grooming sessions, and plenty of fuss & cuddles!! Not surprisingly we had no visitors today, but thanks to those hardy volunteers who came along despite the monsoon, much appreciated. We had to get David 'Dyno-Rod' on the case this morning as the drains were becoming overwhelmed with the volume of water and the kennel blocks were in danger of flooding. Not the most pleasant of tasks but fortunately he sorted out the issue and the doggies were saved from having to paddle to their beds!! Many thanks indeed Dave - a rotten job but somebody had to do it! All the post op girlies were fine today, eating well and enjoying the extra attention they received during the day - as did all the residents. Well another weekend is upon us, and it's nearly Christmas!! Hoping that the weather improves dramatically in time for the walk in Brueton Park on Sunday. Our doggies start going out to their Christmas foster homes from tomorrow - let's hope they all have a lovely time and learn lots about living in a home and the outside world in general. Many thanks to all our foster families who are making this possible. Sadly we are still without phone or internet at the kennels, very frustrating. You don't realise just how much you rely on technology until it doesn't work!! Well, I am dry at last and will be raising a glass or two of red wine this evening to toast our beautiful boys & girls, our fabulous volunteers, the Daybreaks Management Team and all our supporters - thank you for everything during 2019, have a very Happy Christmas and see you all for a very exciting New Year!
