Over the Rainbow Bridge
Well the hoomans are having a hard time getting me out the kitchen! Now that I have discovered the tasty looking room I can’t stay out of it! If the door is fully closed I either stand at the door crying or I go upstairs and listen out for a hoomans sneaking in to get something. Mom went and did the bins yesterday so as soon a I heard the door open I was down like a rocket! No stopping me! The disappointment in my face when I had to be kicked out again was mean. They love me to bits though and think I’m hilarious! Lubs cheeky and sneaky Barney Xx

Hey Florence! I might have to sleep with you otherwise we may wake the hoomans up with our whining to get to each other.... we will see how it goes though. Sister Samantha keeps asking for a pup too! Daddy agrees but mom said no! I think Samantha is thinking of plan to sneak on home!!!! Can’t wait to play musical beds and our waggiest tail competition! Lubs Barney Xx

Would like to say a massive thanks to Shirley and Richard for taking Elmer out overnight. It was lovely to hear what a good boy had been, he really enjoyed his time away from the kennels and showed that could easily settle in to a home environment. Thanks again guys. X

Hi Florence, wishing you a very happy birthday, sounds like you had a greyt day. I had the pleasure of meeting your new boyfriend today, he is very handsome as is his brother. Flloyd is a little put out that you have foun someone else, but these long distance relationships very rarely work out. I have tried to explain that meeting up a couple of times a year does not constitute a relationship, more of a friendship. He does say he is happy that your tail is getting better. 2019 Daybreaks Diary!

A little on the chilly side, but still managed to get almost all of the washing dry. Little Harley was reserved and Wilma met her new friend, they got on really well. We had visitors for nail clipping, buying of food, calendars and coats. Even though we were short of volunteers, all dogs had morning and afternoon walks and the more vocal residents had a blast in the sand run to try and wear them out! Thanks as always for the help today, I really appreciate it. X

Apollo (Elmer)

As Kate has mentioned, Elmer came for a sleepover last night after helping at the Stratford Race Course Collection. He behaved really well at the race course and had quite a bit of interest in his I need a home vest. He travelled well in the car and was very interested in all that was going on around him. Once we took him home he settled quite well with our three. Ate all his dinner, he likes Harrington's, and then settled down in the lounge with everyone else. He went out into the garden to do what he needed to both last night and this morning and learnt straight away where the door was. He managed the stairs to sleep in a bed on the landing and we didn't hear a peep from him all night. He will however need some practice on getting back down the stairs. All in all he was a very good houseguest. He is a rather large dog, but he is a happy soul and loves his cuddles, a real gentle giant. A lovely addition to any family.

It’s my Birthday! I am 5! I’ve had a new boot to help my corny foot, a pigs ear and gone for my favourite walk. Mom made me a roast chicken dinner- yum yum. My tail is getting much better but I am still wearing a specially adapted 2 pint milk carton velcroed to my PJs to protect it. Sending lots of love to Rosie and Monts, hope they are both fully recovered soon. Lubs to all. Florence xxx
