I did Maisie's home visit on Tuesday and so far she is doing really well. I think her sign may be turning green very soon!!!!! 🙂

Thanks, Kate for being so lovely (as ever) on the phone yesterday, I thought I would post something on here as so many of you have been so supportive over the years, but after an almost 2-hour vets appointment yesterday, Carla has quiet advanced Heart Disease , she is now on Meds and seems to have responded a little as she has today eaten the most she has since she went off food on Friday , I know its going to be difficult to "like" my comment but I felt since so many people have been supportive that it is my duty to let you all know and say thanks for all of your support over the years, Carla was true to herself through yesterday and was loving all the girls at the vets , I wasn't sure to start with what they meant when they all said "Oh please leave her here" , but , well ,she was heartbreakingly Sociable as she always is

Louie Suarez

Suarez spent some time in the "people" kitchen today. He was very good and happily played with a toy in the back kennel. He is a great lad who can be quite vocal at meal times and walk times. Whoever gets to take him home won't need a watch as Suarez will tell them it is time he should be walking or eating! He also sits like a real dog! He is a really lovely lad. Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

What a very busy day! 🙂 Harley went off to the vets first thing this morning for her neutering op. She was very good in the car and settled straight away. Xx She was quite bright when she came bsck to,the kennels later this afternoon. 🙂 Richard and Dave went to visit a lady who had a lot of bedding to give to us. We are very grateful for it, thank you! Xx We had another new arrival, a very pretty little girl called Fleck...she has lovely white spots on her coat! She is not quite as spotty as my Lyra, they would look so cute together!! :))) Maisie has very kindly been fostered for us. She needed a break from kennel life....fingers crossed she will make herself at home and not want to come back. :))) Xx We had a lot of help today and the weather was good, so everyone got their walks in a spot of sunshine. Xx Thanks so much.

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Drew arrived this morning. What a very handsome boy! He is a big tall lad weighing 37Kg! 🙂 Our youngest resident Cassie was reserved today. :)) She is also our smallest resident...quite a contrast to Drew! So pleased for her. Xx Thanks so much to everyone for your help today. It was good to have a dry day! :)) It's getting closer to the firework season 🙁 Fletcher and Lyra heard just one "bang" tonight during our walk and spent the rest of the evening shaking and looking for places to hide away. Fletcher lay on the kitchen floor and Lyra took herself off to the spare bedroom. 🙁 If you have recently homed a Greyhound and this is their first experience of fireworks with you, please be extra careful when out walking in the evenings. Make sure they are leaded up securely and if they really don't want to go out don't force them. On the noisier nights I usually just take mine in the garden to go to the toilet. They get a special treat for going. :)) Xxx

Drew is a big handsome lovely boy. Initially strong on the lead, but everything was new for him, with gentle encouragement he sttled and walked very well. Gorgeous affectionate dog. Xxxx
