  • 2019 Daybreaks Diary!

    I’m Homed

What a contrast to last Sunday. It was such a busy day. All dogs were fed, cleaned and those who could were ready to go to Brueton park. Thanks to Jess for organising and to all who took a dog. We were inundated with visitors, I lost count after eight dogs queued patiently to have their nails cut. Many thanks to Lorna who stayed after her pamper booking to do them. There were viewings booked for this morning, these resulted in Elmer and Suarez being reserved pending their respective home checks. Pretty little Fleck found herself a home with a lovely greyhound sister, wishing her a very happy new life. We also had a viewing for another little girl this afternoon, the family are coming back tomorrow to introduce their oldest daughter to see how they all get on. Fingers crossed. Very short of volunteers this afternoon, so many thanks to our Sunday college student Chyna for taking each of the dogs into the sand run. If I have missed anyone off I apologise, I could hardly catch my breath before something else happened! It seems our wishes for red and green signs have been granted. Have a good week all.

Tiger has had another adventure into the big wide world. This very handsome lad, needs some help with understanding how it all works. Hes a good traveller, great with other greyhounds, loves people including children. He can be very vocal when it comes to seeing non greyhounds, which in some cases he can walk past larger breeds. If they are small or get too close he becomes vocal. I'm sure once in his new home, he will flourish! 🙂 x

Oh my goodness - Michael & I were just leaving the kennels this morning after visiting you when the couple arrived to see you. You obviously worked your magic my lovely, as you now have a very well deserved red sign. Absolutely delighted for you - an extra large glass of wine is called for tonight to celebrate. xxxxx

Suarez is a very sweet boy. He was so good when he went to the vets to be neutered this week. He loves to lean and made sure everyone in the vets received a Suarez lean before they left! The vet commented on what a nice lad he was with a lovely temperament. He would be a great friend and companion and you would always be sure of a cuddle from him. Sending him my cuddle tonight too. Xxx

    I’m Homed

It rained and rained and rained all day! :(( No walks today, the lane was flooded and the spray from the Coventry Road was enough to take a shower in! Instead all the residents came out into the small runs for a groom and a play. Ruth gave all those on their own a Kong to keep them occupied for a while. I don't think they would have thanked us for sending them out on walks. :)) Despite the weather we had lots of visitors including Robbie who came Iin for a a pamper with Jess. He looks great. 🙂 Lola found herself reserved by a lovely family! :))) Thanks so much to everyone for your help on such a grotty day! Hoping tomorrow is better and the boys and girls will get to go for walks. 🙂 I know some of them will be taking part in the Greyhound walk in Brueton Park tomorrow morning. 🙂 Xxx
