    I’m Homed

It was a day of dodging the rain today - fortunately our gang of helpers managed to get both morning and afternoon walks done in the dry, but goodness me it absolutely poured down for most of the rest of the day! Jo took Evie off to the Vets this morning to be speyed. She was quite bright when she got back to the kennels this afternoon, and managed a small bowl of dinner. Her kennel mate Elmer was happy to see her back as he had missed her during the day. We were very well off for help today as, together with our students and regular volunteers, we had a group from HSBC join us for the day. They joined in with all aspects of the kennels routine, including welcoming our 2 new arrivals Johnny and Sally, and said they had enjoyed their day and the many and varied tasks there were to do. Johnny is a big, friendly boy who was kennelled with Sally at their Trainers and does a good job of looking after her as she is just a little bit nervous. Having said that though, by the time they came out for dinner Sally was a little happier, and we even had a waggy tail! They both polished off lovely big bowls of food and we left them snuggled up together. Many thanks for everyone's help today, we managed to get lots of cleaning and tidying done. Unfortunately there is now so much wet washing draped over every available surface!! Blooming weather...…. Well another weekend is upon us, and it is a red wine toast today - for red or better still green signs by Monday morning. We do have a viewing booked for tomorrow so keep everything crossed. Whatever you are doing this weekend, enjoy and stay dry. Cheers! Angie xxx

    I’m Homed

New lad Jet only arrived yesterday and today he finds himself reserved! So pleased for him. Xx We are expecting two more new arrivals tomorrow...would be great if they found homes so quickly too! The weather was much better today, just one rain shower! We had lots of help so everyone enjoyed two walks. 🙂 Richard and Lucy went off to the warehouse while Declan finished taking down the Gazebos from last Saturday's event in the sand run. We have lots of new Winter Blizzards and fleeces in stock ready for the winter....don't forget Greyhounds don't like the cold! 🙂 Xxx

    I’m Homed

I didn't walk Razzle today, but I did go into his kennel to lead him up. Goodness me that is one waggy tailed, happy dog!. He walked really well with Willis and Dewey. He is going to make a super pet. Another one who loves kisses and cuddles. Xxxxx

Willis is an absolute gentleman. He is happy around the other hounds, very undemanding on his walks. He loves cuddles and fuss. He walks beautifully on his lead and responds to basic commands. A really lovely boy. Xxxxxx

  • Dewey (Dew)

    I’m Homed

Dewey makes me smile everytime I go into her kennel. She's so excited to be going out, nudging Willis out of the way. She is a lot more confident than she was and dare I say even a little bossy! She is a pretty little girl and walked so nicely by my side on a slack lead. Back in her kennel and straight up onto her bed for a nap, didn't even get a chance to give her a cuddle. Xxxxxx

    I’m Homed

Walked this lovely little girl this afternoon. I couldn't NOT walk her after she offered me her paw through the bars of her kennel!!. She is easy to lead up and though she takes notice of everything around her, she walks nicely. Nuzzled me for a cuddle when I put her back into her kennel. She has come a long way since arriving at Daybreaks and when the right family comes along I think she'll be a happy and devoted pet. Also she quite likes being kissed on the head. Lots of cuddles xxxx

  • Stanley

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Good news from the New Forest from Daisy and Stanley. Daisy has now been with us 6 months (the time has flown by). At times it is quite eventful although they do seem to love each other to bits!!! She is taking some time getting use to other breeds (work in progress). Stanley is getting a bit better regarding ? arthritis and front legs limping, we are gradually reducing his pills. It is his 11 birthday in a few weeks. We all hope Lady Victoria and her tribe has a lovely holiday in Woolacombe. If anyone deserves a good holiday she does. We hope all greys get their forever home/sofa soon. Lots of love Daisy, Stanley, Tim, Sue and Anna xxx

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

It was my birthday on Monday and now it’s my 2nd Gotcha day with the hoomans! I’m ever so lucky to have them. I love them to bits and they love me. It was really meant to be. I couldn’t have asked for a better home! Lubs Barney! Barney’s slave here! It’s been two years. Wow that has gone very quick. Barney has come on so much over these past two years. From in a crate not moving to bouncing all over the place. He has his mad moments every morning and night! We love him to bits. He is still scared at times but he will never change and we love him no matter what. Thanks daybreaks for the work you do and giving us a wonderful grey. Can’t forget Klaire who introduced him to us! Wouldn’t have been able to have him without you! Love Barney’s Slaves!
