Would like to say a massive thanks to Shirley and Richard for taking Elmer out overnight. It was lovely to hear what a good boy had been, he really enjoyed his time away from the kennels and showed that could easily settle in to a home environment. Thanks again guys. X

Hi Florence, wishing you a very happy birthday, sounds like you had a greyt day. I had the pleasure of meeting your new boyfriend today, he is very handsome as is his brother. Flloyd is a little put out that you have foun someone else, but these long distance relationships very rarely work out. I have tried to explain that meeting up a couple of times a year does not constitute a relationship, more of a friendship. He does say he is happy that your tail is getting better. Love to you, your Mom and TC. Xxxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

A little on the chilly side, but still managed to get almost all of the washing dry. Little Harley was reserved and Wilma met her new friend, they got on really well. We had visitors for nail clipping, buying of food, calendars and coats. Even though we were short of volunteers, all dogs had morning and afternoon walks and the more vocal residents had a blast in the sand run to try and wear them out! Thanks as always for the help today, I really appreciate it. X

As Kate has mentioned, Elmer came for a sleepover last night after helping at the Stratford Race Course Collection. He behaved really well at the race course and had quite a bit of interest in his I need a home vest. He travelled well in the car and was very interested in all that was going on around him. Once we took him home he settled quite well with our three. Ate all his dinner, he likes Harrington's, and then settled down in the lounge with everyone else. He went out into the garden to do what he needed to both last night and this morning and learnt straight away where the door was. He managed the stairs to sleep in a bed on the landing and we didn't hear a peep from him all night. He will however need some practice on getting back down the stairs. All in all he was a very good houseguest. He is a rather large dog, but he is a happy soul and loves his cuddles, a real gentle giant. A lovely addition to any family.

It’s my Birthday! I am 5! I’ve had a new boot to help my corny foot, a pigs ear and gone for my favourite walk. Mom made me a roast chicken dinner- yum yum. My tail is getting much better but I am still wearing a specially adapted 2 pint milk carton velcroed to my PJs to protect it. Sending lots of love to Rosie and Monts, hope they are both fully recovered soon. Lubs to all. Florence xxx

Elmer has a sleepover at Richard and Shirley's tonight 🙂 They took him and their lad Murphy to the fund raising event at Stratford Race Course this evening. Had a photo earlier from Shirley of Elmer, Murphy, Cello and Maisie all looking very comfortable in their lounge. :)))) Xxx

Great to see Cleo, now called Chloe go home today. Our volunteer Dave was very pleased to hear of her name change...he has been calling her Chloe since she arrived!! She was very proud to have her photo taken with her new toy! Wishing her and her new Mom lots of happy times together. Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

A great day for the Daybreaks residents today. :)) Cleo went off to her new home with her lovely new Mom. Xxx We had lots of visitors which resulted in gorgeous little Wilma being reserved and a family who went home to think about a certain young lady....fingers crossed Xxx We had several customers for nail clipping including frequent visitor Star, who has been in his home for four years. He is as handsome as the day he left the kennels but going a little grey now. :)) Sarah and Steve came in with Grayson, he looks great! He wasn't too sure about coming back to the kennels at first, think he thought he was being returned! Many thanks to Steve for fixing the tumble dryer for us. Xx We also had visits from families whose lads are joining us to volunteer in the next few weeks. They were all smitten with the dogs. Suerez loved the extra attention and grooming he received from Ben who really wanted to take him home. 🙂 All the dogs enjoyed meeting all the visitors, sure it brightened up the day for them! :)) I am so greatful for everyone's help today. Thank you!! Xxx

FANTASTIC. I am SO happy for you Wilma. As the judge said last week at the show when she gave you 5th place (out of a lot of entries), she couldn't resist that little face. Don't forget to take your rosettes with you (3rd in 4-5 age group too). We're not at the kennels this week so may not see you before you go home. If we don't then be a good girl and we look forward to updates. Lynne, Simon, Skip and Sam. x

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

I got to meet our new arrivals this morning, they are gorgeous. We had no Angie today, and found ourselves short of some of our usual Friday people. Thanks to everyone who came in and helped. The weather couldn't make its mind up, thankfully the walkers managed to keep relatively dry. Not good for trying to dry the washing! It was lovely to see Ruth, Tig and Momma for a couple of hours. Lorna had a customer for a pamper. Dave fought his never ending battle with nature, no sooner had he swept up all the leaves another lot had fallen!! It's a bit like the Forth Bridge, once you finished painting it you have to start again!! Well, here's hoping for a successful week ahead, as Angie would say 'I raise my glass to that'.
