Over the Rainbow Bridge
So today you had your third meet and you were awesome. Max still wanted to sniff but you both went on to do your own thing so soon ! You lay down in the living room with us despite that scary tv being on. A lovely just you and mommy walk until you saw daddy and wagging ensued cos you recognised him. You met your furless Nana and our lovely neighbours and a dog and you were such a good boy. Love you Grayson x

Happy Gotcha Day on Friday to the amazing Charlie who has brought such joy and fun into our family. He's had a very tough few months but is still the happy, funny, kind and loving dog who we all love to pieces. Enjoy your cake lovely boy xxx

Dewey seems to be gaining in confidence every time I see her. She was interested in everything on her walk this afternoon. She was happy to walk with Willis, Elmer and Cleo. She's not bothered which dog or human she uses to try and get her muzzle off!!! Xxx

Thanks to everyone who saw our plea on Facebook and our amazon wish list.. Please if you have an amazon account and could purchase something off our list, esp pilchards in tomato sauce or oil or tinned dog food, we would really be grateful, we always need stocks for our hounds waiting for their forever homes. Well Grayson you were fab when we brought you home for a quick visit yesterday. Auntie Kate had some excellent advice which we followed to the letter! And how right was she, you sniffed your brother and then went about your own business, need to work on inside as you haven't experienced this before. See you tomorrow to do it all again xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

A bit of a damp gloomy start to the morning. We had two lovely college placement students start. I have to say they were very eager to learn, once shown the task of cleaning the kennels they got on with it, they were great. Many thanks as always to our regular Wednesday walkers, we were back up to a full crewe again. This afternoon was warm and sunny, we had unexpected volunteers which was fab, so along with our students all dogs had afternoon walks in the shade of the lane. It was lovely to see Emily our student from last academic year join us late morning. She, unfortunately couldn't get a placement with us this year, but as she finishes college early on Wednesdays she has decided to come in after and keep volunteering, (she continued to come in last year even though she had completed her 2nd year). A quiet day for visitors, we did have a lovely lady who is looking for a companion for her Springer spaniel. She went out on a couple of walks and we took a couple of dogs which may be suitable into the sand run. Next step, she is hopefully coming back with her dog and partner to see if we can match the right dog to the, basically seeing if her dog chooses someone! It's not always who the human chooses that the four legged friend picks. Half way through the week already, let's get some more reservations and homings on the go! 2019 Daybreaks Diary!

It was like Christmas at the kennels today! We had several parcels delivered which contained lots of lovely tins of fish for our residents. Thank you all so much. We didn't waste any time in using some of them and they all had Mackerel for dinner! :))) We had lots of help today so we were able to do morning and afternoon walks. It was great walking weather! I helped Lucy with her photography this afternoon. She was taking some final shots of some of the Trust dogs for next year's calendar. Let's say some of the models were easier to work with than others! Bless them :)) Can't wait to see the finished calendar, it's going to be great! Xxx

Myself Flloydy and the furry five enjoyed our chicken, pasta, parmesan and butter last night. I says I loves having Italian family and we loves our pasta, rice cheese and especially parmesan (only the fresh type of course) My mom makes a wicked proper Italian pasta dinner (my nanna is Italian, she says we are all too thin, but we are not we are all greyhound shaped)!!. Thank you to all for my gotcha day wishes. Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Lovely little Wonky Cindy has been reserved again! She met her prospective new Brother and Sister today, they were all good together. So happy for her. She is a very affectionate young lady! Xx It was a rather wet morning but the rain held off for us to get the walks done. Ben was able to go for walks again after his neutering operation. He was very happy! 🙂 Thanks so much to everyone who popped in with donations of food and bedding. We are so grateful to you. Thank you to everyone for your help today. Xxx

Following Florence’s ‘helicopter tail centrifugal’ blood spraying of the hall and a neighbour last night an early visit was paid to the vet this morning (she was due this afternoon). Good news - no infection and blood loss is massively reduced. Bad news - some breakdown of a tiny area skin. Return visit Friday hoping that all is well. Xxx
