Well Topper, soon to be known as Grayson. You were fantastic meeting your new brother and sister. Lots of sniffs and tail wagging followed by a lovely walk where you walked shoulder to shoulder with your new bro. A couple of home visits scheduled to see how you all get on with him in his environment. Keeping everything crossed that everything will be well. Love you Grayson, can't wait to get you home xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
It was a good day today. There were enough people to take the residents out for morning walks. This afternoon was quieter so it was sand run time. Maisie had a visit to the park with Liz_Beth, I think she found it a little daunting. With time and patience she will make someone a lovely pet, she would be suited to a home with an experienced owner. Topper found himself reserved, if all goes well he will have a greyhound brother and sister. So far so good this afternoon, more meetings will be arranged to make sure it is right for all concerned. Thanks too for the donations of bedding. There were also a couple of bookings to use the sand run. More sales of tickets for our 'Let the stars shine again' evening. Just under two weeks to go now, last year was lovely. Please try and make it if you can. Our stocks of tinned goodies for the hounds has run very low. If you could donate a tin or two of tinned meat, tray meat, pouches, pilchards or sardines in oil or tomato you would make our dogs day! Thanks so much to Seana for popping out to Morrison's and donating some dog food herself to tide them over for the next few days. Another week is upon us, hoping as always for lots of viewings, reservations and homings. We have one viewing booked for tomorrow already. Max and Arry accompanied me to the kennels today and took up residence in the office. Max has absolutely no teeth in his head so I suspect that the culprit that stole (sorry, helped himself to a whole pack of 20 unopened schmackos) was Arry. Actually I am positive, the office was very fragrant all day and now at home and lying on the sofa I am hearing lots of hissing from the rear end followed by a rather unpleasant wafty odour. Schmako overdose is not pleasant, not for humans anyway. I am sure he enjoyed them at the time!! Oh and also some unguarded Bakers treats. Thanks again to everyone for their help today, it is always much appreciated.

Maisie
I’m Homed
Maisie came to the park with me today. It is lovely to see that she is far more relaxed around people who visit her in her kennel than she used to be. Once leaded up, we headed to the car. She needed some help getting in but was happy to jump out. I had the feeling that she was a bit overwhelmed by all the different sights and sounds in the park as well as the volume of squirrels and other dogs. She will need someone with patience, who can introduce her bit by bit to her new life. I'm sure she'll be worth the effort though. Good luck little lady xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
Kate, So sorry to leave you with such a full diary today! But, so very pleased to see Ben and Wendy reserved. So sorry to have missed Lorraine and her gang. I had a lovely and unexpected visit from Ruth and Andy this evening, it is great to see Ruth looking so well. Onwards and upwards for her, she is hoping to be able to come and do a little and often at the kennels by the end of September. I am hoping for more visitors tomorrow and hopefully more reservations. Please don't forget our 'Let the stars shine again' night on 21st September. This was such a lovely evening last year, tickets are on sale at the kennels, you can book over the phone if you can't come in. If you cannot make it but still would like to have one of our remembrance candles you can either pop in or again order one over the phone. Tickets for the evening are only £5.00, this includes a jacket potato and a remembrance candle, or just £2.50 for a remembrance candle if you cannot make it on the night. We look forward to seeing as many of you as can make it. Hounds are also very welcome. X

It was a very busy day which saw lovely Wendy and handsome young man Ben reserved. :)) There were several other visitors to view the dogs with lots of positive interest. Sorry to see Cindy unreserved but hopefully it will be her turn very soon. Xx We had visitors to use the sand run, it was great to see some old friends including Lorraine with her gang. Can't believe Norah with an 'H' is now twelve...still a very pretty girl. :)) Thanks so much to Liz for taking Razzle for a trip to the park this afternoon. Sounds like he had a great time! Fingers crossed his forever home will soon be his. Thanks so much to everyone for your help today with feeding, cleaning and walking. So kind of you all. Xxx
