Still cannot believe that you are gone my beautiful girl. Friday nights in the summer were my favourite with you, a walk in the evening then home for a snuggle. Missing the way you used to come and rest your head in my lap and look up at me with those big beautiful eyes so I would give you an ear rub! Always missing you my roxy dog ?

  • 2019 Daybreaks Diary!

    I’m Homed

Well, what a contrast to last week - lovely weather, lots of volunteers and visitors too, so it was anything but a lonely day!! Many thanks to everyone for their help today. New boy Tom was still quite nervous this morning and was reluctant to come out of his kennel at first, but a slip lead worked its magic and he popped his head through the loop and came trotting out. Penny is not so much nervous as quite stressed. It must be such a huge change for them both and hopefully they will soon settle in to the Daybreaks family. Our lovely volunteers took all the boys & girls for a walk this morning, whilst I got on with health and weight checks. By this afternoon we decided it was too hot to walk so the doggies came out for a "wee" and some individual play and cuddles. This also gave us the chance to give the kennels public areas a real good sweep and tidy, something you don't get the chance to do all that often. Maggie met her lurcher sister Zara this afternoon, they got on really well and had a little play together in the sand run so its all systems go and Maggie will be off to her new home shortly. The beautiful Honey G went off to her forever home this afternoon, wishing her and her new Mum and Dad many happy years ahead. Once she had trotted out of the kennels, leaving my handsome Razzle alone in the kitchen kennel, we decided to see if Penny would be happier with a friend, so we muzzled them both up and popped them in together. All was fine and as we left this evening they were both happily lying on separate beds and we hadn't heard a peep from either of them all afternoon. Lets hope Mr Razzle will give a bit of comfort to Penny while she settles in to this new environment. The Bank Holiday weekend is upon us, and it looks like being a warm one too. We have a busy weekend at the kennels with homings and viewings, so lets hope the great momentum keeps going and we see more red signs by the end. You've probably guessed already but it is a chilled white wine toast this evening - to all our beauties waiting for homes may this weekend be lucky for you, and to all our beauties going home wishing you many happy years ahead. Keep yourselves and your hounds cool this weekend, cheers! Angie xx

    I’m Homed

A very busy day today 🙂 We had two beautiful new arrivals Penny and Tom. Both a little nervous at the moment but hopefully they will soon settle into their new environment. A big thank you to Bob and Declan for picking them up for us. Xx Maggie was reserved! She will meet her prospective sister tomorrow, a little Lurcher. Fingers crossed all goes well for them both. Xx Ex Daybreaks resident Cleo popped in to use the sand run and have her nails clipped. She looked great 🙂 We also had a visit from our special boy Nick and his sister, Amy. They came for a pamper with Lucy. Nick looks as handsome as ever and was very happy to see everyone. :)) Not so keen on the bath though! :)) Many thanks to everyone for their help today, and of course to Alan and Paddy for supplying the donuts! 🙂 Xxx Xxx
