2019 Daybreaks Diary!

A good day for volunteers, thanks as always to our Wednesday walkers. We had enough help for all the dogs to have morning and afternoon walks. The rain held off until feeding time so we remained relatively dry. We had two lovely new arrivals, Cleo and Wonky! Pretty little girls, hopefully Lucy will get some better photos of them. Hope they settle in quickly. Wishing Sirenmelodys Melly and Teddy very happy birthdays. Bocko went off to his new home this morning, good luck to him and his family.

Happy Birthday to my beautiful boys Mel & Teddy. At 84 & 70 respectively especially for you my darling Melly this is a milestone for us. You are so brave and dignified and you Teddy are just the sweetest boy. Mummy loves you both to the moon and back and prays for another milestone at Christmas. Looking forward to sharing our special day by welcoming ex resident Dessy into our home to share your celebratory lunch. I love you sooo much. Mummy xxxxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

This is Razzle! Kate told me she was feeling a little tired when she left the kennels tonight and asked me if I would cover the Daily Diary tonight! I am delighted to do so.... Breakfast was good, Shirley was in charge. :)). I unfortunately made hard work for the cleaning staff as I left a present in the kitchen run for them and ran around in it too, oops! My kennel mate Penny doesn't seem to mind my "messy" habits! :)) We had lots of lovely volunteers to take us for a walk this morning. It was warm but we all had our wet coats on to keep us cool. Disappointed not to see any squirrels though! Lucy had Seana's family in for pampers. I watched Teddy, Mel and Fergal all having to have a bath from my comfy bed. Didn't look like much fun to me, but I guess they did smell ok afterwards, if you like that sort of thing! A new inmate arrived at lunchtime. His name is Ben, he had all the ladies swooning over him, telling him what a handsome boy he is!! He had a bath too! Penny and I greeted him with waggy tails. :)) Most of us had a second walk this afternoon as it wasn't too hot but then the sun came out again and those who hadn't had a walk had a play in the paddling pool. Dewey and Tommy showed off their ball catching and retrieving skills...I must admit I had a few squeals and barks because I wanted to join in! 🙂 I understand we have two more new arrivals tomorrow....both girls. I wonder if they will be as pretty as my kennel mate Penny? Xx Well, that's it for today! Best bit for me was the malted milk biscuit Kate gave me and Penny before she went home. She says it makes her feel better about leaving us as we watch her close the gate. Xxx

Awwww. Another youngster. Very slightly younger than my Sam. If you're anything like my Sam you'll be wondering at all the strange things in the world but will soon adjust. You're just a puppy. Adorable. I wouldn't be surprised if you're adopted before I return from holiday! Good luck sweetheart. x

This is another lovely girl who has come on leaps and bounds in recent weeks. She happily accepts cuddles and does love a good race around!! Hopefully her forever home with preferably an experienced sight hound owner will not be too far away. She is just waiting for her chance to blossom & shine. X

This little girl has come such a long way in a few weeks. When I first met her she would stay on the bed showing no emotion although she let me stroke her & take her into the sand run. Today she was bouncing at me, wagging her tail & much more confident!! She allowed me to watch whilst she ate & she & her hubby Mr. Wills walked beautifully for me. They are a perfect pairing and if my house wasnt full I would have them both in a heartbeat!! I think it would be very unfair to separate them and so hopefully there is a home out there that can accommodate this lovely couple. Well done Dew Drop....keep up the good work. Xx

Sadly Penny didn't pass her cat test today...but hey, no one is perfect! 🙂 She is a really lovely girl. Gets on great with her kennel mate Razzle. She is very friendly and loves a cuddle. Sure it won't be long before her forever home comes along. Xxx
