2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Richard decided he had had enough of the messy pile of duvets and pillows in the back kennel today! He, Shirley and Kara spent a good couple of hours sorting them all out. Shirley also changed the dog beds in the back kitchen that is normally occupied by volunteers pet dogs. The new photo shows them all having to set up home in the run while the beds were sorted. They were so good...all that was missing were the cocktails! :)) Thanks so much, it looks so much tidier now! Xx Thanks too to Alan and Declan for making a trip to the warehouse this morning. :)) and of course thanks Alan for the donuts! :)) i met our latest new arrivals today, Cleo and Wonky both very pretty girls, nothing wonky about either of them. 🙂 Lucy has taken some great new photos of them both. We are expecting a new lad to arrive on Saturday. :)) Thanks to everyone for their help today. Xxx

Hello, mom wants me to ask if anyone else has had a greyhound that changed colour? I was black but now I have brown go faster stripes, a brown leg and a ginger butt - can’t see it myself. So please if anyone can help she’d be very grateful. Lubs to all. Florence xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Who is the proudest Daddy??? I AM!! It has been wonderful getting to know my son Fergal again and teaching him that being part of a loving family, even if we are not the richest, is the BESTEST. I am very proud of how brave he has been and I am also very proud of my brother Teddy who has welcomed him into our home with open paws! Over to Fergal now for his say. Hello everybody, I have now been with Daddy & Granny 2.5 weeks and have been learning fast. I soon settled down when I realised I would be eating lots of yummy things very regularly. I love my food and Granny has been treating me to many different and home cooked meals to see what are my favourite foods. So far everything is!! I had my dental just over a week ago and had to have 12 teeth out but I recovered very quickly and less teeth has not interfered with my enjoyment when it comes to food! I am naughty if Granny goes out and leaves anything around. I enjoy finding new bags of yummies and ripping them apart to see what is inside. Granny doesnt think thats funny so I get the evil eye and a no cuddle for you my lad. Hee hee I still know she loves me really. She just needs to remember to lock things away. I love cuddling up to Daddy on the sofa and he lets me snuggle into his bum. I sleep next to Granny at night & sometimes snuggle into her armpit. Teddy very generously offered to give up his place for me & he now sleeps in a special bed next to our big bed but in the morning I am happy to swop with him so he can have cuddles with Granny too. Teddy also loves washing my paws and tummy so I am quite spoiled for attention. We also often cuddle up together. I have learned my new routine very quickly and love my new name. I answer to it very quickly. I feel much happier and everyone says I look better although I still have a way to go to get my weight up but I have put on half a kilo so that is a positive start. Granny has discovered that our houseguest yesterday, Dessy, is related to Daddy....he is a 3rd or 4th cousin she thinks. Something to do with Daddy's great grandfather Head Honcho. He does look like Daddy. Dessy is coming again to see us next week so I will hopefully be a little less shy as I get to know him. Thank you to everyone who has been asking how I am doing. I appreciate it. Well, it is 7.20pm so time now for a small supper before some more sleepies. I wonder if I will always be fed 4 times a day????? Xxx

Just spoken to Ali G. Kuro is doing really well. He is fab at home and is much better with other dogs. I am hoping to go and see him in a few weeks when I visit my family. X

Maisie walks nicely on her lead. She is very interested in everything going on around her, from blowing crips packets to mowing machines. She does listen to a 'leave it' . She was very well behaved when walking alongside Cleo. Lovely girl xxxxx

Was greeted by a wagging tail when I went to take this elegant, dainty, adorable girl for her afternoon walk. She took the noise of the Coventry Road in her stride, walked on a slack lead and adjusted her speed to my my walking pace occassionaly looking up at me. She even waited while I re-tied my shoelace. What a fantastic hound!! Massive big cuddles for her xxxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Hello Peeps.....Melly & Teddy here!! We had a very nice birthday. Thank you for everyone's good wishes. Having had pamper sessions yesterday and having new handmade collars we showed them off on our walkies. We thought that was our lot but Mummy surprised us with snuggly new fleecy throws to go over our duvets plus several different treats including homemade biscuits especially for doggies. We were very good and shared nicely with Dessy who spent the day with us. We told Mummy we thought she should make some biscuits for the residents and she said she would try to get some made for the get together in September. We all had a lovely lunch of sardines in tomatoe sauce with wholemeal pasta & rice and then we slept for a little while before showing Dessy around our small garden. He soon settled down and we think he enjoyed his stay with us. Fergal says he will update everyone on his progress after his check up at the vet tomorrow. Night night all. Xxx
