Bobby
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Bobby had a lovely day at the seaside yesterday :)) Not only did lots of his friends go but his girlfriend Gem came too, so he was more than happy! It was Jess's idea to arrange a day out for him to see the sea 🙂 Bless her. :)) It was great to be able to take Annie and Thena, they have both been waiting so long for their forever homes so it was lovely for them to have a day away from the kennels. :)) The sun came out so we all had a paddle in the sea. :)) It did get very warm but we used the cars for shade. Richard lent Skip his knotted handkerchief to keep his head cool! The only thing they missed out on was an ice cream...the man went home before we could get any!! Maybe next time. Xx Bobby would like to thank everyone for arranging his day out, he loved it! He sends lots of love to Ruth who isn't feeling too good today. Xxx

We had lots of visitors this morning, including Sara's Dad and Louis. Louis had a pamper with Jess :). He has never been very impressed with having a bath but he looked great afterwards! Xx Jess had several other clients for pampers and nail clipping. It was a lovely warm day for them to dry out in the sunshine. 🙂 Many thanks to Seana for taking Bell out on a roadshow this morning. She was very tired when she came back to the kennels. Xx Thank you also to everyone who popped in with donations of food, bedding and items for our forthcoming Birthday Party. Sweet lovely Rosie has been fostered for a few days. Hoping all goes well for her. Xx Thanks so much to everyone for their hard work today. :)) Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
I had the great pleasure of taking Bell to the Mell Square roadshow today. After helping her into the car she settled down straight away and lay very quietly until we parked above Marks and Spencer. I had walked her during the week and she walked very nicely and today was no different. We met up with Lisa, Jill & Paul who had set up very nicely outside Touchwood so an excellent spot and a change from where the setup has been before. Considering this is the first time Bell has been out into the wider world she coped very well. She is a placid and shyer girl but I believe that is a positive. She was not phased by any of the noise coming from the new bank being worked on and she was excellent with everyone including all the children from tiny toddlers through to teenagers. It is obvious that she absolutely adores people and would happily be cuddled 24/7!!! She did not show any reaction to some of the smaller varieties walking nearby and eventually just lay down very calmly and had a bit of a snooze. She was very good on the return journey and even managed to climb out of the car herself!! She is a very pretty girl and in my opinion and experience will be an asset in the right home. I believe she will learn quickly and just needs the right people to bring out her personality and instil some confidence in her. I think she will thrive in either a family or adult only home. She is a very pretty and gentle girl and I know she is finding kennel life a little bit overwhelming at times. I am hoping to take her next Sunday on the Brueton Park walk as getting her out of the kennels and experiencing new things will I hope show her how lovely a life will be outside of the kennels. If I was in the market for a third child Bell would undoubtedly be at the top of my list. I think she is fabulous and I really love her to bits. It was lovely to see old favourites, Buddy and Nifty & Cilla etc. It was also great to see Jet again and finally meet his mum Lucy. I love meeting the parents behind the racing and stage names as it were!! It was an excellent day overall and I was amazed at how generous some of the people donating were. Some had rehomed greyhounds from elsewhere but all said the same thing........you never look back or rarely move to another breed as a greyhound is such an amazing, placid and gracious creature with such a great temperament. Once you have had one you just go back for more and more!!! It was good to see Fat Neck Finn & Nina again this week on their holibobbles but I'm sorry I didn't get to meet Loveheart. However, FNF doesn't seem to be quite as chunky as he once was so I guess the diet has worked......missing the updates Loveheart. Hope you are keeping well. Thank you to everyone for their company today and look forward to seeing you all again soon. Seana xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
Firstly....after a couple of months of not being able to access the website due to severe technical difficulties with various appliances I have now got access restored.....albeit just on my laptop which I hate using!! It has taken a few days to spend time catching up with everything that has been going on as although I visit the kennels I do not usually get to hear all the news. And so it is with a heavy and sad heart that I offer my belated condolences to Richard & Shirley, Alan & Pam and all who have had to make the dreaded decision or have had their loved one succumb to old age. Whilst possibly a certain acceptance of yet another goodbye comes to those of us who are seasoned animal parents it does not mean that the process gets any easier....in some ways I feel it gets harder. I would like to share the following words which I am sure all the boys and girls who are now resting in rainbow bridge would say if they could. If it should be that I grow weak, and pain should keep me from my sleep, then you must do what must be done, for this last battle can not be won. You will be sad, I understand, do not let your grief then stay your hand, for this day more than all the rest, your love for me must stand the test. We have had so many happy months and years, what is to come can hold no fears, you would not want me to suffer so, the time has come so please let me go. Take me to where my needs they will tend, and please stay with me until the end, hold me firm and speak to me, until my eyes no longer see. Please do not grieve, it must be you who has this very painful thing to do, we have been so close, all of us these years, do not let your heart hold back the tears. Rest in peace boys and girls. Seana, Melly & Teddy xxx

Well ive had a lovely morning at mell square today. It was mine and my moms first roadshow and we loved it! We wanted to do our bit for the kennels as mom doesn't get time in the week but thought this sounded fun! Any way we left with our pot feeling rather heavy so we're hoping we helped raise lots of money! All the volunteers are lovely and made mom and i feel very welcome and aunty Lisa brought me a sausage roll so, sausage roll and fuss all morning...absolutely no complaints from me! Looking forward to our next one now! Lots of love jet xxx
